Do your kids still believe in Santa?
Our daughter is 6.5 and shows no signs of skepticism. At what age did your kids stop believing? Were they hurt when they figured it out?

My daughter is 4 and she said to me last week, "Santa is not real is he? But we can pretend he is can't we?". She reasoned it out and figured out a way to make it OK. I love my girl.

I have two boys aged 12 and 6. The 6 year old gives every indication of believing in Santa. I think he is on the borderline of knowing, but doesn't want to say anything just in case he's wrong and doesn't get any presents. The 12 year old obviously knows, but has never questioned me about Santa, or told me that he knows. What I find really touching is that he still plays along with his litle brother and never gives the game away. Bless him, he just doesn't want to spoil his little brothers fun!

6, 4 and 1. Absolutely believe in Santa. They're counting the days until he comes...asking what his favorite cookie is...writing him revision letters for their lists which seem to change daily.
It's going to be a great Christmas. ![]()

My two year old doesn't believe in him, heck, he's still terrified of him... And lets not even TALK about the 6 foot tall Easter Bunny we saw this year, that guy had ME a bit worried.

My older daughter played the game to the max for my younger son till he found out like you said....some kid at school.
Of course that first year he did not say anything, but when they went to bed that night my daughter made her usual statement that she had left Santa his milk and treats out and then they went to bed. I went out by the tree and Santa's milk was a beer and his treat was a thank you note for all that Santa does throughout the year. I must admit Santa teared up that night and everytime he rereads it and still has that note to this day.

Nope, never did. As soon as they were old enough to communicate we taught them that santa was a fun, harmless myth associated with christmas but the real reason we celebrate is to honor the birth of christ.
PS they know about the easter bunny too, pagan myth coinciding with the ressurection of christ. |
