According to the cartoon physics, speeding up would stretch the length of the car carrier, thus reducing it's height.

According to Albert E., however, the length of the carrier would, in fact, decrease, and the height would not change. And speeding up is a bad idea, bacause the mass of the carrier would increase, thereby increasing the potential for destroying the overpass. Of course, the driver would go forward in time, so he could run away from the scene of the accident before it even happened.

i would think that mass is a constant in this setup??
the kinetic engergy however would increase with speed...

Of course, I was joking, and mass theoretically increases when one speeds up, but at these low speeds the increase is far, far less than negligible. So mass is not constant, at least in theory.

Since kinetic energy = 1/2 mv^2, it increases as both v and m increase. The increase in kinetic energy is very noticeable at these speeds, and it may be what kept the truck from getting stuck.

Athough Al. E. said that you cannot travel faster than the speed of light, if he had managed to exceed it he may have got there before the bridge was built, could he not?
