HiRISE can take pictures five times sharper than the Global Surveyor camera. Mellon said Wednesday that one of the two most intriguing gully sites will be photographed this week, with others to follow.

So we can expect more pictures soon?

too hard to say definitively from that photo, grady..and even were it clearer, we'd need to test the soil content, etc. what does nasa say about the photo or is the photo simply generating internet speculation?

I don’t find any mention of there being three sources.

About mid-way down the flow is what appears to me to be
“braided” stream flow. This is a common flow pattern here on
Earth with low gradient and high sediment load.
