Ha ha- so much for the ban: I logged into Rennlist!

I guess [?] I am still banned over there? I urged a friend to use his computer to try to log into R-list tonight, and my screen name worked! I didn't post anything, and I logged out a few minutes later.

Rennlist bans are a joke! Or maybe John Dunkle's poodle [a.k.a Randy Venier] screwed up-

N!

They are dying on the vine anyway. I have not been there in 3-4 years, was just not worth the BS, especially compared to PP.

I sniff over there from time to time just to reaffirm that it still stinks.

It does.

Saw a bunch of 928's in a parking lot couple of weeks back, they were doing a breakfast run.

Natch I had to stop and roll down the window and ask if they were Pelicans, guy says

"what",

Pelicans, you guys members?,

"who",

Pelican parts forum!,

"nah, we're all on Rennlist"

Yeah, ok have a nice day.

Before this thread gets locked!

I do not miss RL at all and see an increasingly number of RL monikers here each week.
I am in a forum recovery program trying to concentrate on Porsche topics now

I spent a little time on RL last summer when I got the 996, they have a lot more active 996/997/GT3 board over there. Haven't been there in a while, my 996 never needs any wrenching and the basic maintenance stuff if so easy that I don't need any help. I changed the oil and put brakes on it when I got it almost a year ago and have barely opened the hood since. You can check the oil from the dashboard, it's accurate and hasn't used any. It's a point and shoot car if ever there was one.

That said, there's a fair amount of knowledge on RL but a lack of humor, IMO, that makes it insufferable for the most part.

I sometimes feel sorry for Mr. Peter Zimmerman. He is a very knowledgeable gentleman and funny too. He should move here instead.

For some reason the 928 forum is much more active on RL than here.

They also have a more active 356 section, but then, I also subscribe to 356talk via the registry...

RL has its moments...and Randy is an ok guy in my book. My only beef is the cliqueish nature of it....but while i post here alot more, I still like Rl and I read it often, alot of good guys there.
we all suck in our own ways...
I enjoy OT here WAY better because the topics are more relevant usually to me and we are less one sided...more balanced in seeing the opinions of both sides..I LEARN alot more about life and politics here

Years ago, 2000-2002, I think, I used the Rennlist email thing and loved it. It was great. I never had a problem and it sort of reminded me of this place, but at some point I wasn't able to keep up with the emails and quit going. I tried the web forums there and here and found that I liked this one better, I haven't looked back.

There are some guys there that I thought seemed like great guys, similar to a lot of the regulars here. But, now I'm here and this place is grand. I post here occasionally and even though I haven't owned a 911 in 4 years, I'm still here. Aren't you guys lucky?!?

The 964 Forum there is very good as well...RL was a great source of data during the search and ownership of my Targa.

The 964 Forum is also heavily European, very polite and funny

The 993 board on RL is far superior to PP's 993 board.
