ringtones
Anybody know where I can download a single ring tone and pay a one time fee. All I can find are places that want me to subscribe.:)
|
I just got a new ring tone a few minutes ago.. went to Cingular web site, brought up the ring tone page, found the one I wanted, pressed the listen button and recorded it on my phone voice recorder. then you just set that file as your ringtone.

I'm wholly sick of fancy ringtones. I have a simple, old school ring.
Some of my co-workers have: -Gangsta Rap -A ringtone that sounds like the bells on an old rotary phone -Pink Floyd's "Time" I've found the more obnoxious the ring tone, the more obnoxious the cell phone user. |
my ring tone is a female with a Cuban accent calling my name and saying pick up the phone.. it gets quite a laugh when my phone rings while I am in stores. there's many pages of voice tones with names from a to z on that website

Hmm, Charlie Brown theme song when my family calls, "Inna gadda da vida" for everything else, but not MP3, just polyphonic.

The problem is phones dont come with a "normal" ring anymore.
Most of the stock ringtones blend in with my kids toys and computer games so I miss a ton of calls when I'm home. |
Ringtones...
Had a client once who was accused of fraud. In the preliminary meeting with the DA the client's cellphone rings. The ringtone was the theme from "The Sting". Bad choice. (He got three years in the end.) |

Bloody Ringtones!
My phone rings like a phone.
Why is it so important for people to have all these stupid annoying ringtones? Can somebody please explain it because I'm obviously missing something. What I find particularly irritating at work are the people with ringtones on a cell phone who leave it sitting on their desk when they're not there. I don't want to listen to their ringtone choice at full volume. It gets worse when the person trying to reach them calls back three times in succession. Why have a cell phone if you don't take it with you? Thanks, I'm done now and feeling much better! :) |
The 67' 911 is the exception

Worked with a guy whose cell phone shouted out "SHARON, ANSWER THE FRIGGING PHONE" so loud that we would distance ourselves from him most of the time. The bystanders laughed, cried giggled or were in shock when it happened... we just shrunk into the woodwork until he was replaced and went home.
Mine rings. If you really want ringtones, Bearshare has all you want... |
working with heavy equipment and driving a diesel, I find hearing my name called makes it much easier to hear than a muted plain ring. amazing how your brain can pick up your name spoken thru all the background clatter and noise and ignore everything else. the first few times it rang after I had installed the name ring, I didn't realize it was my phone and would look around for someone trying to get my attention. and as for the vibrating alert... happens everytime I have my hands in an electrical panel wiring something up. makes me jump like an idiot
