Specs on new, specs and price on old box? Don't need any 356 parts... just time to work on the poor thing.

Wayne -

Not sure what's up of if it is happening to anyone else, but I'm losing the server connection rather frequently. It seems to happen any time there isn't any traffic from my client workstation to/from the server for more than about 5 minutes. Just wrote a reply to a thread and the server dropped me 4 or 5 times. I get a "Server Not Found" error. It also happens if I return to the computer after a few minutes and select screen refresh.

Wayne,

If you want to test the new server out, GIVE US GRID GIRLS BACK FOR THE HOLIDAYS!!!

BTW, am having no problems with the site but am overseas with a very high speed connection.

High-speed DSL here, also. I typically transfer 0.3 to 0.8 GB per day on this connection with no problems, but I just lost the server again.

The problem with SATA drives is that they are not meant for the high duty cycles of something like a database. Sure, you could lose one, but depending on your RAID setup, losing two could be a bummer...but you know that I see quad AMD's, Linux, and MySQL in your future......attached to a mini fibre channel array....
