As allways, a great show. Spent the $90 for the 1977 thru 04 Tourbooks as well as this one. It was nice to hear they did a few that never get played live
-digital man -entre nous -between the wheels And the "Lil Rush" South Park intro to Tom Sawyer was hillarious! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnubQY4xpKI rjp |
Must revive this thread, all Rush fans need to check their local venues because tickets are now on sale for the 2012 Clockwork Angels tour. Rick, where are you going to see them?

Thanks for reviving. Don't know how or why (laugh), but brings back some great memories of concerts in the early 1980's.

I love this 2008 time lapse assembly sequence of Neil's drumkit
RUSH - Setting Up Neil Peart's Drums - Red Rocks, Denver - YouTube |
Neil's kit was on display at NAMM in 2011 and I got to crawl all over it. I'll try to find the photos. You can't see 1/10 of the detail that went into this work of art, even if you were in the front row.

Got that DVD for Xmas last year.
Any Pelicans in Pittsburgh in August? I'm playing with my old Rush tribute band at the Hard Rock on Aug. 23rd. We do a lot of old school stuff. Drummer is the best non-famous guy you'll ever see. |
saw lotus land awhile back in Rhode Island. very good show. You ever make it up to New England area? I could probably gather a few to attend.
|
Nah, Pittsburgh is far enough for me. Those guys don't tour, though the drummer also plays with a few Dave Matthews tribute bands and travels some for that. I'll post youtube videos afterwards.

Just finished reading Neil Peart's book "Ghost Rider." he is as good a writer as he is a drummer!

Love Rush. The older I get the more I can appreciate just how tight they are. One of our HD channels followed along on tour with them. Each show was devoted to either sound guys, lighting and rigging etc. Truly makes you appreciate them. Years ago they played Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto on New years eve with Max Webster. Think it was a yearly tradition for awhile. Too bad I was too young to go

In April Rush got the Golden Gods Award at Club Nokia in LA. It was announced on one of the fan sites well in advance and I happened to have a business trip there with my boss, also a Rush fan, the day of the event. But I couldn't find any info on venue's website about it or who would be attending. Tix sold out pretty fast, but I probably could have finagled some through connections. I just didn't know if it'd be worth it, since it'd be unlikely anyone from Rush would attend.
So my boss and I headed to Santa Monica and Venice to hit some bars. We happened to be a few blocks away from Neil's house, so I told him I'd drive by real quick to show him. We barely even slowed down, but there were some trucks parked out front, Neil was having a smoke in the front yard, talking to some workers and we could see his Aston DB-5 in one of the open garages. Ha! Later on Neil's website he wrote that he ended up going to the Golden Gods Award ceremony, accepting the award and giving a speech. Turns out Alex was supposed to go, but had a familiy emergency and their manager asked Neil last minute to do it, since he lives there. Neil also mentioned one of the reasons he didn't want to do it was that was his move-in day at his new house. I'm kicking myself for not going to the event, but we got a quick glimpse of him anyway. |
Just found this very sick man. If you know the Exit Stage Left video, you'll understand.

Ghost Rider has been a soothing book for me and ignited my search for a GS1150. I rode it across country last year and am getting set for some traveling late summer/fall. Plan to go to Alaska with my son next year.
Also a Rush fan, need to get tickets for the November show in Seattle. Us up near Mt. Rainier a few weeks ago with my boy. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1343221198.jpg |
