Office holiday gift basket edicit

Alright! Despite all the "tis' the season" stuff, how my co-workers rifle through the gift baskets drives me...well...nuts.

In seconds flat, the shortbread's gone, the Godiva chocolate has been consumed, the nuts are eaten like ball park goobers, and why the hell all that's left is a paltry bottle of pickle spread is beyond me.

What gives? Is there any office edicit when it comes to the holiday gift basket?

Sheesh!

Tell me about it. Yesterday, 15 employees..48 tamales. Guess who didn't get one. I came back from the studio 10 minutes after they arrived. I hope they all get coal in their stockings...

LOL! No, tamales are traditionally made at Christmas time so Mexican kids have something to open up on Christmas morning (if anyone is offended, feel free to make jokes about Swedes and Lutefisk).

There are two types of people in the world: the quick, and the hungry...

Perhaps you should issue an edict: "The Godiva chcolates shall be reserved for David!"

"Edicit" occurs when one gets hold of the Kettleone that remained inside the gift basket after everything else was taken, and begins a thread in an altered state.

NOW we are talking! That's how you one up them!

Around here, it comes down to individual people. There are some that take take and then take some more. Others are more polite and don't expect things to be handed out.

It's just manners really. Sadly, most people lack those these days.....

It doesn't matter if it's a Holiday Gift basket...the slobs at my office have the worst manners when it comes to food or free stuff. You'd think grown men (who get paid very well) would have something else to look forward to at home to fill their fat arses. I can understand a pack of hungry kids in a refugee camp going after the food with such poor manners, but ... crap. I've seen kids in refugee camps show more restraint than some of these mofos!

David, go get a box of glazed donuts. Leave then out. BUT DON'T LET ANYONE SEE YOU DO IT. Then a day later, send the slobs a picture of the donuts on your pecker from a phantom yahoo account!

Agreed. My "Christmas Basket" was a call from HQ telling me that my replacement was refusing to come on duty without a bonus. They asked me to stay overseas 3 days longer until they could get someone else to replace me and I agreed.

They gave me the bonus that the other guy "demanded" and fired him. The extra money helps a bit but getting home at 4 PM on the 24th leaves me little time to buy ANY presents unless its in duty free or at an airport somewhere while on my way home...

Can I have the pickle spread? Makes a nice stocking stuffer...

Joe
