What drugs did you experiment with?

You all know you've experimented in your day. So cough up some stories or experiences from your wild college days or so on. Please non-alcoholic stories only.
If you wish -Whyd u do it, and whyd u stop? and so on

(I dont want this thread to be turned into a lecture on drugs, We all know they're bad--so if you wish start your own thread about it)

and dont be embarressed ;)

Ahh, pot, 'shrooms, acid, coke, speed. Coke and speed were not for me. Could not stand being wired like that for so long. The hallucinogens were fun for a bit in college. I did more 'shrooms than acid - I think. I remember most of the trips. Great drives in rural Billings, Montana, good times walking around in San Louis Obispo, Ca.

One time in SLO, three of us were shrooming at the local park at night and I noticed a square pit. I pushed the weird feeling material and thought that it might be quicksand. It felt really weird. After a bit, I called my friends over and we all started poking at it. Turns out to be a horse shoe pit. They used old carpet padding and had covered it with burlap. We were there after the sprinklers had soaked everything. The foam soaks up quite a bit of water, making it very squishy... Later we found ourselves staring at a chain-link fence........ Don't ask.

Ive heard that acid stays in your spine your whole life and because of this randomly at any time later in your life you could have an acid flashback, have you had one yet?

slodave 12-25-2006 11:54 PM

LOL!!! They also say that if you have done acid more than 7 times, you are legally insane. No flashbacks, just memories.

lsd-25 dissolves in water, degrades from light and breaks down from heat...

so no.. it will actually be out of your metabolism while you're still trippin'

Acid flashbacks considered to be/ possibly are, a form of post traumatic stress... i used to have em, it's not the big deal really , just a short moment where things look weird, and you snap out of it, bit like daydreaming... not that intense, and it's not that they sneak up on you years after the trip , it's mostly within a short time span after...

other untrue myths :
strychnine laced acid, the minute amounts (micrograms) of lsd, even if it were strychine wouldn't even make you sick

changes dna (if true dr Hoffmann wouldn't have made it to 100 last januari, or 101 this januari cancer free )

is deadly , one could OD ( it's in fact less toxic then asprine) so good luck on that, you might go coo-coo for a day , but die from it? unlikely

it will however eff you up if you are not mentally prepared for it in a good enviroment, especially the high , psychedelic (3-400 ug)doses

regarding the thread, i've tried pretty much everything, did some things recreationally longer then others, and then slowed down ,got bored with most of it... went to mushrooms, and then ultimately had one massive trip on acid ( i had some mild ones when i was a lot younger)where i didn't even know my name, rank, or species, and since then i've even quit smoking (and the psychedelic thing helped me cope with the cravings)...i'll still occasionally trip , but more in favor of the more mellow mushrooms , which are legal here...but i wouldn't rule out copping out again in the future , it's not your usual escape drug, it's closer to facing fears and digging/meditating in ones psyche... it's to intense to do it regulary, it's zero addiction, but it will warp yer mind, and IMHO it makes you want to improve life , not destroy it...

Hmmmmmm....not so sure what I want on the public record.

Ah......f*ck it :)

Lets see.....7 years of being a techno DJ in Detroit/Chicago....errrr...yeah. A few drugs have been taken.

Hallucinogens were far and away the best experiences, especially shrooms. Its the one drug that I would actually consider taking to this day. That being said, I have not taken any drugs other than alcohol in the past 10 years. Don't plan to.

DJing gave me access to ecstasy long before it became fashionable in the US. Its a nice drug, on that finds its roots in the pharmaceutical industry. Very enjoyable, manageable experience that does not leave a hangover. Its also relatively short, the effects are pretty much gone after 6-8 hours. And OH YEAH, you can dance your ass off when you are on it. For hours.

Not so sure how I feel about LSD. I took it. I learned from it. But I also feel like it took something away....innocence? Joy? I always felt like it cut everything open, and left you to pick up the mess. You could have a lot of fun, but it also caused to you poke into some of the dark areas of you life that were avoiding. Perhaps you SHOULD be examining those things, but acid was not the most pleasant vehicle for conducting exploration.

Marijuana....really just a cure for utter boredom.

Coke....I guess its fun at the moment, but WOW does it turn you into an a55hole. Really just dabeled in it because of friends.

Not sure how I feel about the whole thing.

I'm not proud of what I did, but I'm not ashamed either. I had some wonderful experiences. Really amazing stuff. Never really had what I would consider a 'bad' experience. I explored some dark corners with LSD, but in retrospect, those corners needed some light.....

nuf said.

never worked for me , E ruined my dancing moves, didn't give me much energy , and basically turned me in a cuddleb1tch more then anything else..

i used to take em and go to bed on em.. and i'm talking proper ones, i'm from Belgium , most E's are produced there, so no crap either...

Never tried any...

Porsche-O-Phile 12-26-2006 04:52 AM

You mean today?

None. I had the advantage of growing up in a "rougher" area than most.

Drugs were not romanticized like they often are in lily-white suburban areas like I live in now (and on largely lily-white suburban internet boards like this one).

Seeing it first hand, I always associated drugs with losers. I wanted nothing to do with that scene, in fact did everything pretty much the opposite of it, to successfully escape from it.

Schrup 12-26-2006 08:13 AM

I'd have to say my most enjoyable "experiment" was when I brought a sheet of acid to a buddy's bachelor party. Lost count of how much I ate & was giving it away to everyone.

Later that evening, I wondered into the garage where a small group had gathered & snapped off a base hit (not something I normally did, waste of money IMO), got a massive rush that lasted 8 or 9 hours. I never tried to replicate it.

I've been clean & sober for 10 years now & the only thing I ocassionaly miss is the occasional (yeah right) bong hit, but I'm already stupid & lazy enough, so I'll pass.

Harddrive where did you DJ in Chicago? What name did you use?

I am on cough syrup. Itīs legal, pretty harmless and I can prescribe it for myself at a very competitive price. ;)

Pot...quit when I figured out that in order to buy I was finding myself around people I didn't like being around. The "peace and love" days were gone, replaced with some pretty nasty dealers. Time to move on.

I found pot enjoyable. Truth be known, it was a lot easier to quit pot than it was to quit cigarettes.

Still, no real regrets that I quit. It was time...

Pot ain't that addictive, problem is at least in Europe, most potheads smoke it with tabacco ( because the pot here is a bit on the heavy side , damned those dutch genetically engineered pot growers), and as such the heavier potheads here do have problems quitting, because of all the nicotine that's in the joints...it's not the weed, it's purely the nicotine...

Hugh R 12-26-2006 11:01 AM

Can you define the word "Experiment"? Grass, shrooms, hash, LSD, coke, acid. Haven't done any of them in around two decades. Actually, I take that back, wifey and I smoked a little weed about a year ago.

pwd72s 12-26-2006 11:02 AM

That I'll believe...nicotine being addictive. BTW, I wish to clarify that my experience was decades ago...the strongest being bud from Hawaii. Evidently much stronger stuff out there now.

Only way I'd smoke again? Should I take a vacation in Amsterdam. ;)

+1

At a certain point, you look around, and you don't like the people you see. Time to move on.....
