"Lower end" guitars are built quickly using cheaper materials. However with today's tooling the parts are dimensionally identical to the high end. It's all in the set-up and electronics of the instrument. If you are not a good enough player to tell the difference, the difference does not matter. I have a cheapo 335 knockoff that is a great player. I also have a real Gibson that is a great player.
