I watched a DVR'ed vintage rally out of Paris France last night and they had a wonderful collection of old Ferrari's Renault's, Ford's, etc.

and a pair of 910's

I don't remember too many details because I was doing the "red wine test" last night. If anyone is interested I could get more data on the rally.

Notes
add » There is no such person as Wilton Crawley. It is a pseudonym for an unhappy writer. The script went through many permutations before filming by starting out as a hastily written draft by Paul Diamond, the writer of episodes "Evan" and "Phil the Shill." In fact, second unit racing footage was written and shot, but discarded, after the end of the 1st season before Diamond's draft was even completed. That script was called "The Prize" and was written to attract Mick Jagger, or a similar Brit rocker. Later it was revived for Danny Sullivan, and a whole new script was written in-house. Per the filing with US Copyright office, Paul Diamond is the credited writer, though in fact, there is not one word of his in the script. (edit) Music: "Naughty Naughty" (begin) by John Parr from his S/T album; "Sellin' the Store" (party) by Cliff Sarde; "Cruise Missile" (motorcycle race) by Steve Morse Band from album The Introduction; "Up from the Skies" (asking questions on the streets) by Jimi Hendrix Experience from album Axis: Bold as Love; "Mercury Blues" (during pre-race) by David Lindley from album El Rayo-X. (edit)

father & son racers, daddy killed a hooker, dumper her out of the 906.

A Porsche Carrera 6 loses a Corvette in Ferrari clothes running thru downtown Miami. Than a body gets thrown out of the Porsche while it is moving. Do you know how hard it would be to get a dead person out of that car when you are also driving it?

This kind of thing used to happen ALL THE TIME in Miami during the early-mid '80's.

I get the Ferrari, but that Porsche is a poor choice. It really gives the chase a ClockworkOrange kinda feel, its strange. Someone oughta tell the producers so they don't make that mistake again.

The guy who played Tubbs was a pretty bad.
This was in the first year or two when they were driving the black Ferrari.

I wonder if the engine sounds are real - doesn't "sound" like it to me.

Ever notice that even most "car" shows either:

a) play some other engine's sound
b) play music etc. during the scene

About the only one to get it right is Victory By Design IMHO.

Speaking of 906's here is a patently gratuitous photo of Otto Zipper and me in front of his 906 at Laguna Seca in 1966 or 67. It's backwards for security purposes.

Good question, they must be quick removable since they were on there during the race. I believe that Scooter Patrick was the driver.
