				USC Duplicate Jersey Numbers?

Anyone know why USC's starting quarterback and one of their starting linebackers BOTH wear jersey number 10?

Doesn't the NCAA have a rule about that? Very confusing when watching with the "sound muted" as we were doing at a Rose Bowl party yesterday. Hopefully, the commentators addressed it. |

While he and I were in graduate school together, Cramer and I visited his alma mater for what I will generously call a "football game", at which there were as many as three players on Cramer's team with the same number, and probably about seven numbers used multiple times.

Say it with me: "no cut policy". As long as no two players wearing the same number were on the field at one point, I don't think there's an issue. JP

Don't most college teams have 105 people on the roster? Duplicates seem to be necessary.

Ahh yes, the famous [insert name of Alma Mater here] football team. . . home of the oft-quoted phrase "looks like [Alma Mater] fielded only 113 guys today!

Four digit jerseys would have looked a little silly, though. I suggested hexdecimal, but that went the way of most of my suggestions to the "Athletic" Department. Plus, it would have been a little silly to hear the assistant coach holler, "0F8, you're in!"

I thought the duplicate numbers was weird.

What's up with no names on the jerseys? I know some college teams don't have them, but it looked like most (maybe all) of the bowl game teams don't have names on the jerseys.
