Let's Ban Dihydrogen Monoxide

Very telling example of environmentalist morons jumping on a bandwagon they clearly do not understand. Most of these idiots have never seen an anti-anything petition they did not like. Throw in a few of their favorite, recognizeable buzzwords, and they flock like moths to a flame to sign a petition that they believe will stick it to corporate America. What a bunch of tools.

I think they should set an example by living a dihydrogen monoxide-free lifestyle. They should give up all foods and drinks that contain even trace amounts of dihydrogen monoxide, any products manufactured with it, and any biological material that has absorbed dihydrogen monoxide from the environment.

I tried to commit suicide yesterday by closing the garage door and running the Prius.
It didn't work.

Note to self - do not read Pelican at lunch when eating soup.

Anyone know how to get Pasta Fagioli out of a computer keyboard?

Something tells me that if you showed up at say, an NRA convention, it would be harder to fool the people. Bring an anti-gun petition cleverly worded to appear to be pro-gun and I doubt you would get nearly as many to blindly sign it.

Environmentalists are perhaps too easy of a target, especially the ones dedicated enough to go to a rally such as this. They are driven far more by the heart than the mind. Most of them simply do not have the background to understand the (lack of) scientific principals behind their chosen position. All they see is the evil corporate world trying to destroy the planet, and anything that rings that bell for them is a sure sell. No matter how valid or absurd.

I know their hearts are in the right place, and they have done a great deal of good. I also see them being very easily manipulated by some of the very interests they despise. I see them being led these days by some very big money; big money that does not walk their talk.

The environmental movement has, as a result of this and other influences, become a parody of itself. It harbors some of the most intellectually vapid followers and leaders, and some of the most violent terrorists in the Western World. Not many outside of their own ranks take them very seriously anymore. It's too bad because, like I said, they have done some good things. Boy have they ever lost direction today, though.

This was actually featured in a part of Guns & Ammo a few (like, 6 or more) years back. Some kid did it for a Science Fair experiment or something. He got a whole gang load of people to sign on to banning water.

I think it's older than that. I read it originally as a door-to-door petition back in the mid-'90s.

I think the disappointing part is the lack of critical thinking exhibited by our polulation in general.

Saddam was quite an anti-environmentalist. He drained the marshes and set all the wells ablaze.
That would make Bush.....an evironmentalist?

It's funny, a lage part of the "environment" is the network of plant systems that absorb toxins, generate oxygen/food/materials, and most importantly...create the basis of sustaining Human existance on this planet.

I guess one would have to opposed to human existance to be opposed to the environment?
Who benefits financially from NOT destoying it?

I've personally banned dihydrogen monoxide from being mixed with hydroxyethane any place on my property, and recommended the same to my neighbors. The horror.

Being a computer engineer, I know exactly how to do this...wait until the guy two doors down goes to lunch and then trade keyboards!

That's some dangerous *****. Check out this site.

Check out some of the dangers associated with dhmo!

* Death due to accidental inhalation of DHMO, even in small quantities.
* Prolonged exposure to solid DHMO causes severe tissue damage.
* Excessive ingestion produces a number of unpleasant though not typically life-threatening side-effects.
* DHMO is a major component of acid rain.
* Gaseous DHMO can cause severe burns.
* Contributes to soil erosion.
* Leads to corrosion and oxidation of many metals.
* Contamination of electrical systems often causes short-circuits.
* Exposure decreases effectiveness of automobile brakes.
* Found in biopsies of pre-cancerous tumors and lesions.
* Given to vicious dogs involved in recent deadly attacks.
* Often associated with killer cyclones in the U.S. Midwest and elsewhere, and in hurricanes including deadly storms in Florida, New Orleans and other areas of the southeastern U.S.
* Thermal variations in DHMO are a suspected contributor to the El Nino weather effect.
