Cowboys/Seahawks--Heartbreaker
As a diehard Cowboys fan, lemme tell you I am a little depressed right now. The funny thing is, as they are lining up the field goal I say to my wife "I have a feeling they will miss this and lose". No kidding. Then to watch Romo fumble the ball and from the back camera it looked like he was going to score. Tackled 1/2 yard short of a first down. Terrible. I guess there is always next year....
BTW, I feel bad for Romo, the kid played his heart out. He will be back next year and will be in the Pro Bowl again. Mark the tape.

Rick - I feel your pain, but being from Seattle, I was rooting for the Seahawks. I think the Cowboys outplayed Seattle. They completed a lot more passes than we did.
I was with you holding my breath on that field goal attempt....Cowboys played a good game!!!!!!

Gawd that Romo!!! No lie, I predicted each fumble and interception including the f'kd place at the end! Not sure what piss'd my wife off more, the loss or my pre-down predictions.
This is most likely the last your for the Tuna. One thing I am not clear on is the Safety at the end. I always thought that the defense had to sack in the end zone for the 2 points. No sack, not even a possession by the Seahawks. My wife says that if there is a fumble in the end zone and then it could also be a Safety. So what is the rule?

Fumble in the endzone is either a safety or a touchdown. Seattle has nothing to feel good about after Dallas absoulutely handed them the game thanks to Glenn and Romo.

I used to like the cowboys and have always liked Parcells, but I can't root for any team that TO is on.
I say get rid of TO, keep Parcells, and shop for a real 1st string quarterback. |

The Cowboys are a bunch of overrated bums. The operative word is "team". They're not one. They're a bunch of individuals that happen to show up wearing the same colored uniforms.
I bet it comes to light that Parcells has been talking to another team for the last month too and "lost his focus" as a result. The guy's a snake. I like his "old school, ass-kickin' football coach" attitude and approach, but I think he's a slimeball. Romo was a shot-in-the-arm but his "rock star" bit is old, tired and can only go so far - especially when you're dealing with a team with as many inherent flaws as the Cowboys have. About the only thing I like about the Cowboys is they're not the Raiders. At least we don't have to look at 'em until next year.

TO has camel hands for sure, Romo...well, its just a great example of everyone expecting more from a guy then the guy can do. Dallas is a football town and you can't believe the hum and energy around this team. As rag tag as they are, I am still surprised that the town has rallied around them. They really didn't belong to be even playoff contenders but them again that conference is as starnge as strange gets!
Most of the folks around here thinks the the problem is at the top - the owner. The guy is a known sleeze. "Give it to Jimmy, give it all to Jimmy!" is the common cry from the 4 Seasons as he retires into a suite with the latest bimbo.

Romo is the real deal. He will be a starter for a while. He just started to force things at the end because the defense was about as stiff as a wet piece of toilet paper.
TO needs to go IMHO. The guy really didn't produce all that much this season and I think he is a distraction. Parcells will stay another year, Romo is his boy. He signed him and brought him along over the last 4 years. I think Romo will energize him and get him to stay another season. P.S. Yeah, I mean Seahawks in the title...that whoopin at the hands of the Saints must have made some sort of Freudian impression on my brains.

Seatle didn't really win the game. Dallas lost it. They couldn't hold onto the ball at the critical moments in the 4th quarter.

Can anybody here honestly say they think the Seahawks will make it to the Superbowl this year? I didn't see much sharp play from either team tonight.

I enjoyed the game, mostly because a good friend of mine now lives in the Dallas area, and we called each other several times to go "Neener-neener" back and forth.
It just happened that the clock ran out on one of my "Neeners". |

Even if the field goal was made, Seattle gets the ball back with time remaining.

Rick,
Sorry but its going to be a heartbreaker in my feeble mind only when Jerry Jones is no longer associated with the team. That idiot has done more to piss people off around the world and the day he is gone will be a very good day for the team IMHO...

T.O. is an idiot. Getting rid of him would only be the start. Of course some other bottom-feeder team would pick him up like the Raiders. Unfortunately there will always be someone around desperate enough to see if he's worth the trouble for a season or two.

I'm not a Jerry Jones fan either. The only silver lining is that his son, Steven Jones, is supposed to be a very stand up guy. Jerry has already said he will not sell the team and will pass ownership to his son when he decides to hang it up. I don't see that being for a while though.
I know a lot of Cowboys fans left due to Jones. I simply can't leave. I was born and raised a Cowboys fan, it's in my blood. I guess you could call them my one addiction... I walked out of the bedroom this morning with one of my Cowboys hats on. My wife got a kick out of that. Gotta support your team, even in the lean times.

i swear that TO and Romo put Vaseline on their hands right before every game.
one can't catch the ball, and one can't stop from fumbling it. the Cowboys suck - they deserved to lose last night. |
