Home Depot garage floor epoxy

Has anyone had HD paint their garage floor using their epoxyshield contractor services? Not the DIY stuff. Any input welcome, Thanx,
Scott

The stinky two-part stuff works good on a well prepared floor.
The "one-part epoxy" that cleans up with water does not.

Both are available at Home Defect.

My father coated his garage floor with epoxy long ago. While he attempted to clean up the expected oil spills from parking cars, whatever he used didn't get the cement clean enough and eventually the epoxy peeled where the oil had been. Ideally, new cement is the best surface to cover, and if coating an older surface, intensive cleaning is probably in order.

I did my 27 year old garage this summer,

I washed the floor with bleach, then with simple green, then with dish soap, then with laundry soap, then the acid pck that they send with the 2-part, then I acid etched it.

so far it looks good. USe the chips heavy in the walk ways- the epoxy can be slick

My garage floor is ~ 3 years old but we have had a few British made vehicles in there so there's a few oil drips I'm thinking about a acid based concrete stain finished with a sealing top coat vs. epoxy paint.

Rent a shot blaster to remove the top layer of the slab along with all the stains, adhesives and tar. The shot blaster leaves the slab with a coarse finish perfect for excepting an epoxy top coat or tile floor.

It's a cool set-up. The blaster shoots metal shot at the slab. The shot is recovered and reused, while the material coming off is sucked into a large vacuum running along side.
