another question on downloaded music files (torrent)

so ive cracked the whole torrent thang but it seems that some tracks won't play. i get an error in windows media player saying 'the file that you are attempting to play has an extension that does not not match the file format. do you still want to try and play the file?' so i hit 'yes' and get another message - 'windows media player cannot play the file. one or more of the codecs required could not be found'

when i look at the particular track in question it is physically on my computer, i just can't play it....

can any one help?

What is the file extension?

Sounds like like you need to download a new codec bundle - a google search for codec bundle ( http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=codec+bundle )will find you a few candidates. I don't recall off the top of my head what I used.

just had a thought, could it be that the files are corrupt? ive noticed that on utorrent in the 'transfer' details there is a 'wasted' section. its 61.6mb. is this the amount of currently lost or 'wasted' data in this dowload?

I don't know what the 'wasted' thing means, but it is possible that the file is corrupt, but I'm betting a beer that the pr0n vid that you downloaded was made with a codec that you don't have installed (yet) on your system.

As a side note, Firefox's spelling checker thinks' the word "pr0n" is OK.
