Dear Mr Moses

During our recent discussion on Psycho thearpy you mentioned several things.

ONE:

that the following 4 things were proven not to work in solving a problem

1. Psychothearpy
2. Sucking it up
3. Sticking it out till it mended itself
4. Alcohol

Wow in a question of picking out the one that is the most disimilar from the others , psychothearpy would be the answer. Yet U associate them togehter?

TWO: On 2 occasions you mentioned that Psychothearpy is like "massaging the ego" and "massaging the psych"

Your in a high stress occupation and like an athlete needs a massage after a work out, a person in a high stress emotional occupation needs a emotional massage once in awhile to relieve the stress. Just be aware of that need, it might help when your feeling torn and frayed.

I think the time for me has come to stop. I probably have allready overstepped my bounds, and if that is the case and I have offended you, I offer you my apology. If on the other hand U would like to continue this dialoug I would be more than happy to.

tabs..

I have only anecdotal experience, having been married to an individual wirh severe bipolar problems. (like I mentioned previously, she is deceased). She went to various psychatrists for well over 15 years, was on various meds, the whole magilla. My "opinion" is that the crisis will happen sooner or later, and the therapy, in some cases, only puts off the inevitable. With less serious situations, the therapy may work wonders, such as with phobias. I do not know, except I would never advise anyone that psychotherapy by itself will resolve every kind of internal conflict.

The whole point of these threads has gotten blown off course. Moses was so vehemently against Thearpy I wound up defending it. The whole idea behind these Threads is about Self Discovery and not Thearpy per say. Thearpy can only get U to a point the rest is up to U. In actuality there are 2 types of people that go to Thearpy one is there for help during a crisis such as death, divorce, illness or anxiety attacks, they usually are in Thearpy for 6 months to 2 years. Then there is the person who winds up seeking long term change, or should I say Discovery they usually are in Thearpy for 7 years.

Moses is no fking whacko, he has no more issues than anybdody else. Here is the jist of what I orginally wanted to say to him. I had a conversation with him quiet some time ago on the Board. I left that conversation with the feeling that he was a compassionate guy, that had a good idea of what I was talking about. I left that conversation thinking and feeling that Moses should be practicing Psycharitiy. That he could make a dent with the experience he allready has. What I suggest he do, pick up a book and start reading.

Lubby is no fkin Whacko either, he just needs to do a little discovery as to why he has anxiety attacks. Does he need Thearpy to do that discovery no, but Thearpy is a tool that would keep the conversation focused. Actually I think Lubby would get off on it, for him I think it would be like putting Rapid Grow on his lawn.

Nostatic has allready had some Thearpy, has benfited by it and is on that long and winding road of self discovery. I get the feeling that he is sometimes astounded by what I have to say.

The only fking whacko here is me...Even my Thearpist friend tells me I am beyond help and that I am one twisted mterfker...as the Early Registry Boyz were always so fond of telling me.

I tried writing that Domintrix off my Taxes as a Medical Expense, but the IRS wouldn't go for it.

Mother isn't even real, shes a metaphor for the critical parent within all of us, or an assemblage of people who have a negative view point of who U are. At least thats what my shrink friend thinks...but I know better than buy that cr@p. Mother is real, even if I do exaggerate her attributes to see who can out rank who. So to answer your question, how the fk do I know I just make this stuff up.

Exactly...so how does all this whining and introspection build you up in our eyes? Not too much....just my guess.

Introspection is about knowing what I'm doing and why I'm doing it..Its the reason why I feel and imagine the things I do. This has to do with clarity about your situation and the world around you.

The by "Whining," I think you mean..feeling your emotions, letting yourself be your true self. To feel is to be alive, it is one more sense like the sense of sight or hearing if U pay attention. I think man at an earlier time was much more in touch with his feelings for survival. Also our feelings belie our capacity to love.

I dunno....

Life is, by itself, interesting and may have no purpose but itself. Trying too hard to analyze it may create more questions than answers. I prefer to keep things uncomplicated. Perhaps because of my years of living within a situation that would have been to many intolerable, it made me realize that there is much wisdom in the old adage:

"Keep it simple, Stupid."

I had to give some time and thought to give PWD a repectfull answer. He is more the rough shod type of guy that doesn't spend much time thinking or paying attention to stuff. He keeps pretty much on the surface of things. Yet deep down in that old heart of his he loves the ***** outa his wife Cindy.

Yes.It taught me one thing...how little I know and even less I understand.

Overall, I am a very happy guy because I expect very little.

I've spent 34 years at this, I didn't start because I wanted to, but because I had to dig myself out of a hole. I just kept at it day after day year after year. It hasn't come easy. I just wanted to know how things worked and once you start you can't stop and the accumulation of knowledge just piles up.

Tabs - I haven't had any worthwhile experiences with shrinks. The insight that my Wife, Twin and ol Man provide me is far better. Find a shrink that compares and I'll give it a whirl.

Not fer nutt'n big shooter but one mans shoes may not have the right sorta soul for another man.
