Ham Radio Experts

I will be selling alot of Ham Radio gear this year, and there are a few items I have no idea who made them, or what they are used for (applications), or what they are worth. So I figure I'll start a thread, and come too the experts for answers.

First up is the antenna tower, with antenna's. I would like too know what type of tower this is. I would also like too know what type of antenna's these are.

Thanks.

Also some info on the dish.

Nice tower! Wish my homeowners assn would allow me to put up a tower like that but bet even asking is a no-go.

Doubt that you will get much on the satellite. Its an old "C" band model and while they are used these days the newer DirecTV and Dish models are a lot easier to fuss with.

To me it looks like you have three joints of Rohn 25G tower there, and some VHF Yagis plus a 6m on top. My monitor is not too great, do I can't tell what type of rotor you have up top, plus you have one just "hanging around" in the bottom section as well

I would have used a house bracket on 25G as well, seeing that is is "non-guyed"...Not TOO much wind load for 30' though. (I had a TH3mkIII plus a 2m & 440 @ 30', quite a strain in 30mph winds).

But alas, can't put up a tower in my new location either, so have all my old C line, plus a nice TS830 station with a Henry 2K and a Clipperton L just boxed up, gathering dust.

When its not windy, I'll climb up and get names and model numbers off the rotor. The rotor thats just "hanging around" has markings that say TRA - 4 (with a 2 under the - ).

I also have a bunch of Ham radio's, receivers, short wave, and so many other ham radio type items , its like a mini radio shack.

Ha! I still remember climbing up on my 50 foot tower years ago to change antennas on the ham rig. It had guy wires on it and we were not in a windy area. Gives you a new perspective on the area being that high and looking around.

Yeah Joe, 30' was plenty high for me even with a belt. In college, we had a 30' attached to the side of our dorm's elevator riser shaft, and this was 16 floors up! We had an old tribander up top, and needless to say, QRP DX was great!!! (upped the # on the DXCC QRP endorsements quick)

Bill, you should not have problems finding someone to take the antenni off of your hands locally. And 25G is not cheap these days either. I see they went with a top plate and a short throw to the shelf. I always liked a tapered top joint, thrust brearing on top, then bring the mast lower into the tower. Check around, some hams might even disassemble it for you as a trade-out for some of the parts. We took down many commercial installations long ago, and got tons of 25 & 45. Great towers still.

The beam on top looks like a 6meter beam to me.

It would make a nice setup for someone that could all that stuff though.

ARRL has a classified ad section on their web site. While I think anyone can view it, postings are members only I think.

When you get around to selling the radios, please drop me an email! Im getting ready to move all my cars to my new garage, which has plenty of space for my shack I finally get to setup my 100ft Pyrod!!

Anyway, I am still fairly active as an advisor with the Amateur radio club that I was president of in college (W9YB, Purdue University) They are always looking for more gear to use during contest season, Im sure they would be interested in seeing the list as well.

Bill, let me know if you need help taking things apart, I live close enough to you.

Also I may be interested in some of the radio gear, I have not 'practiced' ham radio in very long time ....

Thanks all.I'm going too go too both of my storages and start pulling all of my Dads ham gear, so it all can get back out in the world and get used. He was a Ham Op for over 40 years, so I'm sure you can see the hill i have too climb.

Thanks jriera, I probably will need some help in taking down the tower, esp from an experienced ham guy. I dont want too damage anything.Lets wait till the weather gets a little better, lol.

Bill,

I could use a descent power supply if you find an extra one. Have a Kenwood 440AT unit right now but the PS got left behind when I PCS'ed from Europe on the last move.

Need a 110v-AC to 12v-DC if you find an extra one you want to sell!

No problem Joeaksa. I have no idea on what i have or if I have one since most everything has been packed up for a couple of years, plus I have no clue what most of it is used for. But I will pull everything out, and look too see if I have one. I know he had power supplies, but cant remember the brands.
