The ads are working. I heard something on the radio about how at a Jr. High locker room, the clouds of Axe wafting out at the end of each period is amazing.

So what smells good? That's a funny ad, but this could be a thread about male colognes and which ones do not suck. I've never used the stuff, just Mennen Skin Bracer which is handed down from my Dad. I think that the stuff is in my Dad's pores from using it for decades, the guy is 75 y.o. and he always smells good. I can't smell it on myself.

So what gets the compliments from the lady-folk?

I agree about Axe being terrible. That **** gives me a headache.

Girls my age group (21-27ish) seem to love the Abercrombie colognes. The key is to wear just a hint of any given fragrance, of course, not douse yourself in it like some fat Italian strip club owner.

My mother is a HS teacher, and they had to ban scents at her school because of this. Too much aftershave or cologne was an occasional issue before, but after the axe commercials it was madness.

I haven't used Axe and I'm not gonna. I'm in grave danger each time I open my ancient bottle of Hai Karate, so I usually just stick to Old Spice.

Advertising is more powerful on a subliminal level than most people realize.

Take Corona for example. It's bad beer. Period. But the ads are BRILLIANT. I KNOW it's bad beer, and I can't stand the "taste" of it, but when I see a Corona ad, I want a Corona.

Some years ago, a "factory outlet mall" thing...our wives shopping. A friend & I strolling around, bored to death. We noticed a fancy "scents" store. We strolled in, a curte salesgirl asked if she could help us.

"May I help you?"

"Yes. Do you sell men's aftershave?"

"Of course. We carry all of the popular male scents."

"Good. I need a bottle of skin Bracer."

Guys, the look on her face was priceless!

Interestingly, according to a study i saw in a magazine in the UK (take with grain of salt), that baby powder was the sexiest scent on men for the women surveyed.
