Michigan High-School Football Players...

Hey, Gang!

I know there are quite a few of you guys here from Michigan. How many of you played High-School football?

I ran into this site today (Michigan HighSchool Football) and thought it would be cool to share.

Listings of scores and league standings, sorted by year, by division, etc... They go all the way back to 1950.

Brought back a lot of memories...here's mine!

Randy

Football seasons at Wayne Memorial were 77, 78 and 79. (Graduated in 80).

In the words of Simon Cowell....we were "absolutely average!"

Thought this was pretty cool, too!

If you click on the football helmet at the top of the site for my school, it takes you to the Michigan Helmet Project page.

You can look up schools by name, city, county, etc... Great stuff!!!

My school! We went to UofM Footbal Camp every summer. The first day was always funny because other HS players would think we were part of "The Team"

When you only graduate 26 it's tough to have a football team. Hat's off to you guys, I've seen how hard it is to make the team.

The state high school athletic association should have all of the records, stats, etc., also. The Florida High School Athletic Association has everything online.

If you look for the worst beating ever in the history of Florida high school football you will see my team mentioned on the receiving end

My Dad played for Battle Creek Lakeview in 1956/57/58. I sent him this link. That's pretty cool.

That's weird, you guys should of had Zebra helmets (would of looked cool), what class were you?

Fordson High in Dearborn (Class-A) has U of M colors, and now the helmets match too (did not in the old days).

I drive a zebra striped Geo Tracker, it's like we flipped flopped.

Kach,

You're a Dearborn Fordson guy? Fordson had a way good football program when I was in HS.

We were Class A also, and, in fact, were in the same division as Fordson. We got our butts kicked every year by them.

Their running back, Larry Guido, was a tank...a FAST tank...look at the 78 and 79 season's stats for Fordson and you can see his handiwork.

Randy

That I agree with...man, talk about a game that sucks air out of you...football...time to recover from the output of energy. Water polo...no time, always gasping for oxygen...

I was Fordson Class of 1978, I was not on the team but many of my friends were.

I recently went to the Arabic Museum in Dearborn across from city hall. They had some football stuff in there, apparently 98% of the team is Muslim now, sometimes having to fast/not eat while training for a big game. Things were very different back in my day.
