What Are Your Summer Vacation Plans?

Seems like time to start thinking about the summer vacation.

Anyone got any good ideas brewing? I figure hearing about what everyone else is thinking about doing might give others some new ideas, break us out of funks, etc.

Starting here - my daughter is spending the last two weeks of 5th grade as an exchange student in Paris, living with a host famlly, ending June 23. I noticed that Le Mans is June 16-17. So the thought is for wife, son, and I to go to Paris in mid-June, stay in an apartment. I'll go to Le Mans, then telecommute from the apartment for the next week (fast internet connection needed). New York market hours are appx 1pm to 11pm Paris time, I won't get to do much fun but wife and son can explore. After pick up daughter, head south to Italy for a couple of weeks. I've wanted to explore northern Italy, the Veneto and Emilo-Romangna, and the kids have never seen Venice. I'd like to see Milan again. And a week in a Tuscan village would be nice. Basically the idea is to go to LeMans and then use the magic of telecommuting to bridge the next week, then resume the actual vacation.

Anyone else? Share your plans, ideas, and notions.

I want to keep my job long enough to start thinking about visiting Noah in Israel.

too many tourists during the summer for me. Spring is cross country 911 time and early Sept is bride's vac to another exotic somewhere.

probably go to S America again as more places east are becoming more US unhospitable. Most of the others on the last tour group vac said same.

Just hanging out on the deck drinking and grilling this summer. Gonna take it easy, going to Iraq later in the year. Have a trip planned to go back to Jamaica the following year.

I hear Iraq is just beautiful in the summer. Be careful of the bussed tours though, they don't always work out quite as planned.

Calgary to Vancouver Island through the Rockies using as many of the secondary roads as my wife can stand. Alas, the old E will remain on the East coast.
