Crazy talk.

I learned the good ole' fashioned way. Downtown in rush hour, with my father yelling at me.

NO NO LEFT LEFT RIGHT

NO NO RIGHT

BACK UP

GO FORWARD LEFT LEFT LEFT

Effective learning through shaming and panic. It helped me learn to stay calm and ignore screaming passengers.

I went to the same driving school.

Funny. Tried the same method with my wife, but found it to be completely ineffective. Moses' technique with the empty parking lot worked way better...especially once I left.

As for my father, it's funny because now he's reverted into a very calm driver. Mostly because he's never in a rush anymore, and he's generally not paying attention.

Yeah, I went to that school too. When I got my license, I took the road test in the '63 Ford full sized wagon, column shift three speed and no power steering. Parallel parking was a required part of the test. I wish I could remember what year the license became a photo ID. My first few were typed on a form, no pic at all.

A woman who lived across the road from me a number years ago backed into my 944 that was parked on the street because, in her own words: "I was backing out of my driveway and a car went along the road behind me. I watched it drive down the road and forgot to stop reversing and forgot to turn." Then, after completely mangling my door, the stupid b*tch went off to her meeting without reporting it or telling me.

Anyway, I'm almost over it now...
