leaves no doubt as to why there are jokes about drivers of a certain gender.

That's pretty funny - she's trapped in a wide open parking lot.

This one popped up, this gal actually has some skills, she *almost* gets a 10 foot car parked in a 9 foot spot!

Wouldn't it be enlightening to know exactly what was going through her mind while she was making those moves, what do you bet it was a Walmart parking lot?

Hilarious:confused:

island_dude 01-24-2007 04:44 AM

Man. That blows me away. She damaged at least two cars pretty well for no good reason. Too bad the police weren't there.

masraum 01-24-2007 05:10 AM

people are stupid

URY914 01-24-2007 05:13 AM

I was going to show it to my wife and then I realized it WAS my wife.:(

CJFusco 01-24-2007 06:20 AM

Don't they have driving tests wherever this was taken?!?

Porsche-O-Phile 01-24-2007 06:40 AM

Can't tell if it's a woman at all from that video.

Could be a mentally ill dude or something. . .

CJFusco 01-24-2007 06:46 AM

You can see the woman getting into the car in the beginning of the video...

These are the people I live in fear of whenever I park my car. My "other" car is a Dodge Ram Quadcab 4x4 and it is huge. I park it (and the Porsche) away from EVERYTHING because I don't want door dings. I can park it way the hell out in the middle of nowhere and sure as sheet, when I come out of the store someone has gpne out of their way to park right up against it! What the hell is up with that? Insecurity?

I've observed that behavior many times in the past. I don't get it either.

My wife can't back up her car, always parks to avoid that if possible. We think it's a depth perception problem. I've gone out early in the morning, and at other times, to back her car up for her to avoid the issue you see in that video.

The good thing is that she not only admits her problem, but is willing to seek help with it.

I parked my E55 at the lonely end of an uncrowded lot like I always do. No cars anywhere near me. I always park far away because I don't want door dings and I don't mind walking.

When I got back, my rear bumper was cracked and there was a nice note on the windshield. Seems she backed up her big SUV and was surprised when she hit something. Didn't figure anyone would be parking in the empty part of the lot.

At least she was kind enough to leave a note.

I always park away from everyone as well. If we are in the family car (FJ Cruiser) and I see a nice car parked our far away I will park so as my drivers door is next to their car. I do not park on top of them more of a protect them from the idiots type of thing. My kids know rule #1 is to be careful of others cars.

This is why I don't parallel park.

Not to mention the car wouldn't have fit in that spot anyway...

Get some cones and practice in an empty lot. It's pretty easy when you get used to it.

My big sister had her own method of parallel parking; Turn the wheel, back up till you hear a "THUNK". Turn the wheel, pull forward till you hear another "THUNK". Her explanation was simple. "Why do you think they call them bumpers?. Duh!

JavaBrewer 01-24-2007 08:54 AM

My wife has major issues backing her car. Our garage and driveway are a straight shot. I have explained to her many times that if you don't touch the steering wheel and just back out you'll be fine. She insists on cranking the wheel hard left/right to *correct* the exit and has several times nearly hit the door frame...
