Ford lost the equivalent of a Mustang a minute in 2006...

Wow! $12.7 Billion loss sure buys a lot of pony cars.

Did you see the pic of the new interceptor? WTF are these people thinking?

When is Detroit going to realize that design by committee sucks, if I were in charge I would hire a couple of good designers and cut them loose.

You know, if Ford keeps losing money at this rate.... Oh well, I'm glad we won WWII. If we hadn't, our freeways would be full of Japanese cars.

You're correct. They do. The Focus and Mustang are the only somewhat exciting products they've produced. Truly, they deserve to go out of business with the lackluster vehicles they're rolling out for big money. My only worry would be the people losing their jobs.

In all fairness, though, the big hit Ford took came from last year's the buyouts.

However, that still doesn't exonerate them from their tepid line.

I wonder if their stock is "junk status" yet?

Their trucks are quite popular as well.

When it was time for me to finally get a new truck it was down to the F150, the Tacoma and the Dakota. Research showed that the Dakota had the most reliabilty issues of the three. The F150 equipped as I wished would have cost me $32K. Comparably equipped the Tacoma was $28K.

edit: oh yeah. Since I had no ride when I bought the truck I had to rent something. The dealer gave me a new Camry to use ,free for nuthin'. Even when delivery was delayed by an extra 3 days, they shrugged and siad keep the car no problem.

They should have sent me a Mustang for free one morning and made up for it by taking a long lunch break.

What the heck is that yellow thing? It does look sort of cool in a school bus sort of way.

Ford and GM financial problems come from pension and medical plan commitments.

A HUGE plus one! That's part of it, product is another. The japanse offer better quality, plus are able to react to market trends more quickly.

How many units did they sell last year. I can't find that. I'd like to know what the average loss was per vehicle they sold last year.

And the executives will be paid a bonus! I tell you, Ford is delusional and I can't wait to exit the sinking ship...

On the upside, in a few months I bet you'll be able to walk in and name your price for a Cobra and probably get it. It'd be fun to have one to thrash around on.
