Well, per what John Walker and Rarely L8 says, I think I now get the picture. Umm...I would've backed off long before you did, especially if I had a passenger. But like someone else said, street racing has no rules.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME! You didn't have a chance and you risked injury to yourself and your wife. Dumb, I have run my cars at Ridiculous speeds never with a passenger and never challenging another driver.

I love playing stop light GP w/ my F-250 4x4 diesel. I have the huge advantage in the sandbag department, (no one expects the big truck next to them to take off so quickly, so I always get a car length head start at minimum), and not one person yet has challenged me for a lane in a corner or merging.

I have driven that car a few times - a luxurious rocket ship. Weighs almost 5000lbs (close) and the brakes stop it like it was a bug with brembos (only smmmooooth).
You had no chance. The foam on his latte prob didn't even jiggle.

You kinda got what you asked for. Just be thankful your driving antics didn't get you killed.

Sometimes adreneline gets the better of us, like this time.
Sometimes you have to stand up for yourself, like this time.

To be fair, the Mercedes guy was obviously looking for a shootout too. It's just that when you're obviously 'racing' at least one of you must have the common sense to know there is no prize for winning, only grief for not using that common sense.

Speak for yourself. There are plenty of people who know exactly "what they would do in a simular(sic) situation."

We all do dumb things once in a while. What concerns me is that you do not seem to recognize this as a dumb thing and rather think that you were standing up for yourself(?)

Maybe I'm being too harsh. How old are you?

The guy cuts you off, you're mad. I'd be upset too. What's the point of the jumping on it - retaliation? Got to choose better than that (I suggest later...) But if you recognized what kind of car it was, and the guy already demonstrated his obnoxiousness, you had to know this sort of thing was going to happen.

I have to agree with the others. I wouldn't mess with an AMG with my 996, let alone an SC. Once he had couple of car lengths on me, I would've given up the fight, but that's just me. Anyway, Moke81, you know we're a tough crowd, but we like you anyway.

wouldn't take it too personally, moke. after you've been around, posted a lot, people get to know you and probably what type of driver you are at your core..your driving attitude. some folks on here could have posted same and mostl likely nobody would have launched a single salvo..you're just not so well-know today and in general, most here discourage street racing or have known someone killed doing it..that sort of thing. i'm sure that a couple - maybe 3..4..guys on the board have done similar 'once' in their life.. lol.

Yup. And you should be aware that in the Porsche pecking order, your car is NOT fast. Hell, even my old 1972 beater is faster than a 911SC...assuming both cars are in stock trim. Rice boys try to egg me into street racing contantly...I just let 'em go. Young & dumb fools...what could I gain by blowing them off? IMHO, BOTH you and the Merc driver were being stupid. He knew he was faster, and you should have known.

Paul you could have taken that AMG - your car in stock trim can do 165 - faster cause yours is a coupe.
