I used to play bass in bands, and have watched this same maneuver several times from the stage. Folks try to TOSS the flaming drink into their mouths. That's poor form and if the drink is still on fire, it's dangerous as well. If the bar is dark, the flames are somewhat visible. In a brightly lit bar, they are not.
