what is it worth: 68 chevelle

Friend of mine has a 1968 Chevelle (non matching numbers) that has had a frame off restoration 2 years ago. Garaged.

How/Where can he find what's it worth..
any specific GM/Chevelle board lurkers?

I hit alot of classic car auctions, depending on the quality of the restoration, and having non-matching #s, he can fetch anywhere from $12,000 - $35,000. If it was restored to concours quality, he could fetch even higher, but it is a rare occasion that it would sell for over $38,000. I would have to see pictures for a better idea.

My son just paid $1500 for his original.

Yeah, it was a basket case, but no rust through anywhere and he will have $20k in it when he finshes. Putting a GM Danali engine in it and a 9 inch rear end and disk brakes all around.

I'm watching that market and with pics and option list could give a real street value.

Drive train can add oodles to price. Big block - 4 speed - posi combo will make the car much more desirable.
