Nadeel's Driving Scares Clarkson?!?

I was wasting time on YouTube and came across the following video, from Top Gear a few years back:

Clarkson is a former WRC driver, non? Maybe it's just the syndrome of sitting in the passenger seat while someone else drives like a maniac?

A couple months ago, CAR magazine ran a special about the great Group B cars (Audi Quattro, Ford RS220), and has a sidebar about crashes caught on tape. This sidebar mentions Clarkson crashing a RS220 during a race. Maybe he wasn't a "WRC driver" full-time, but he did race rally cars professionally at some point.

he crashed an RS200 while shooting footage for a DVD called "no limits" or something, not in an actual Rally/race

and here's the Vid

to my knowledge Clarkson never raced in any Rallies, let alone WRC
don't think he ever had a FIA Licence for it...

Oh, I must have misunderstood the article sidebar. I thought they were referring to actual race footage.

Speaking of the Ford Puma - one of the greatest commercials ever made, IMHO...

Am over in the UK right now and just watched a current program.

Clarkson was with Hugh Grant and it was comical... course if they total a car its written off by the dealer or maker, not like regular people...

Damn, I'll have to watch mininova.org for when the torrent gets posted for the new episode.

And I think the name that's in the subject of this thread is

Tiff NEEDELL - NOT Nadeel

Tiff Needell drove F1 for a season and is well regarded for his car control and precision...he could hand Clarkson his ego on a platter.

Search for "Tiff Needell Burning Rubber" on Google video - 59 minutes.

Tony Mason (who was on Top Gear way back) was a WRC driver, I think before it was even called the WRC.

Edit: This is from Wikipedia...

Tony Mason is a British former rally co-driver and television presenter. In 1972, he navigated the late Roger Clark to victory in the RAC Rally and the team also finished second in the event twice in 1974 and 1975. Following his retirement from rallying, he became a presenter on the BBC 2 motoring programme Top Gear between 1986 and 2000, where he commented on motorsport, as well as presenting general interest items, such as about fire engines and Leyland buses. He was also regularly seen on Top Gear Motorsport.

Needell has raced professionally on a few different levels.

It's too bad that Needell's camp (apparently) had a falling out with TOP GEAR's head honchos; TOP GEAR, as it exists today, is much, much more entertaining than FIFTH GEAR. A lot of this has to do with the personalities of the three presenters, but I do miss Needell a bit.
