What do they do?
Considering they probably blew half of their venture capital on SB commercials, I'm not sure they're all that bright.

I've never heard of them before the commercial. I made an assumption.
What do they do?

Salesgenie.com makes sales process automation and customer relationship management (CRM) software. Something to keep track of where your opportunities are in the sales funnel and cycle. The firm I work for uses Oracle but there are many other brands out there. CRM is a huge deal and the packages can run a couple of million dollars, if not more.
Sales people hate them because it makes them more accountable and feel like they are being watched (which they are). Management likes them because they are better able to forecast/report to shareholders and the board plus they can plan resources more effectively to meet demand, etc. Last edited by cantdrv55; 02-05-2007 at 08:32 PM.. |

Wait...I thought that Salesgenie.com provided "leads" for your business for a fee...
Its salesforce.com that is the CRM... Maybe salesgenie.com has a CRM tool too...but Salesforce.com is by far the dominant industry leader. Ive used salesforce.com extensively and was a beta tester for a version at my prior company. It was OK and I didnt feel like it was "big brother" but the problem was that the interface was extremely clumsy and repetitive in many areas. Also the termininology that they used was not accurate. It made me wonder if they were sales software developers more than they actually had any real experience with sales. The interface was able to be modified...which we did extensively. You need some form of tracking in sales... for many reasons... Anyway, I dont know anything about the lead quality from salesgenie.com |

Oops, my bad. I was referring to Salesforce.com, which is a CRM company. Genie provides leads as Sonic dB says.
We use an outfit called MVR or MRV, something like that. Seriously, the leads we get are merely inquiries or requests for brochures and I'd hardly call those "qualified" leads. Sounds like all CRM suffer the same problem - slow/cumbersome interface. Oracle CRM is painfully slow. Don't even attempt to use it on dial-up. It's like watching grass grow. salesgenie is a system that gives you access to lots of databases to find clients. For my application it can find things such as recent renters, people with judgements, foreclosures, etc. Think of it as an advanced way to access public records.
Their rep has been greasing us for months but I haven't pulled the trigger yet. You pay per user. Affordable tho.
