Road rage incident in Florida

I saw this in a news feed this morning. The driver provided his own dash cam video to authorities after firing 11 shots at another car.

https://twitter.com/AndySlater/status/1487158883114172419

Sorry, but I don't know if a Twitter video can be embeded

Just another day on Florida's roads. Must have cut off by a snowbird.

Wow! If you're in a car, there's got to be a better way. Shooting out through your car windows has to be a very last resort.

He worked for the Fire Department until this happened. He resigned shortly after being arrested.

That guy has no business owning a handgun. And if that's all it took to make him do that, prob shouldn't be driving a car either.

If the police weren't under so much stress from asshats these days i'd say 'give that man a badge!' but i'll hold my comments.

I watched the video yesterday and it looked to me like the other driver fired 1st. It happens very quickly and the driver fires back wildly, but it looked like the other guy fired at him 1st.

I believe that was a water bottle hitting the car that he had thrown.

Found the YouTube to make it easier.

What I'm laughing at the most is him flinching. Has he never fired that thing before? I'm sure his ears were ringing.

Good example of the lack of clarity a video can provide

This is a good example of "my eyes deceive me" I think. I thought it showed the other driver shooting 1st. Good thing I'm not on a jury!

And this is why it's a great idea to let all citizens carry a gun. They will all act responsibly and not start shooting indiscriminately the first time that they are angry or scared.

Instead he speeds up to 100mph and catches up. There needs to be a qualifying direct threat and lack of other options to justify some 'self defense' action to that degree. I would convict.

The publicity of incidents like this leads to emulating this behavior, sway in public opinion, and eventually national legal changes based on a few knuckleheads. World star hiphop behavior. Everyone sees it and self-identifies with that innocent bystander from the next one.
