SoCal Heat today.....

Was 88F in the hangar yesterday. Did 220 miles on a joyride on the Gold Wing with the GF on back.

Is over 80F as I type at noon. Humidity at 21%. Not a breath of wind.

Gotta love it here in the winter.

I finally got to shut down the A/c on my house last week down here. We have been enjoying 50's at night and 60's to 70's in the day for now, supposed to bounce back by next week to the 80's.

I'm in East L.A. as I write this. It's over 80 outside and very nice.

Actually, gpr924............uh.........I think is our weather is screwing you! Tough day to be a Chicagoan today anyway, I suppose. Condolences.

Nice here, high of 3 deg F and wind gust to 30 mph, not too bad if you dress for it. Just don't want the Pcar out in the salt.

Just took the RX1 out for a tour around the lake, not much traffic. Better than the 110 or the 405 plus the ground doesn't shake here, too freaking cold.

Yup, -9 (wind chill -25 or so) when I walked the dog this am. Only got one block before my cheeks were tingling - walk over! I hate the midwest winter weather! And to top it off, I saw some guy driving his targa (SC or Carrera) today. I need to spend more time in a climate where I can enjoy my hobbies more than 7 months of the year...

Occasionally dealing with all of the B.S. associated with living in this place has its perks. . . like today.

I worked in the yard today, and came in with a great tan, and sunburn on the bald head.

I love California.

-42deg. in Embarrass, MN. today according to NPR. That is not wind chill, but actual temp. That is normal for this time of year there, traditionally the coldest spot on the continent. It hit -58 there when I lived in the state a few years ago.

Today in L.A. was like a dream, it was so nice. Sandals weather. Gorgeous.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.... rub it in.

You southerners miss out on the joyful Christmas feeling when it is time for the first ride of spring after three to five months of abstinence.

The hangar that has all of my 'toys' opens to the west. The afternoon sun makes it uncomfortable in the summertime, but I have an aircon unit that cools the workbench. It's not there this time of year. Sitting in front of the laptop posting here was cooler than the engine change I was in the middle of.

Yep, I took the time to 'rub it in'.

I had to LOL this morning. Was sitting here on the boat watching the local morning news. Two items got me laughing.

1) We 'might' get some rain sometime in the next few days. We are really behind on our 11 inches a year normal. The weather guy was trying to get SoCal natives and recent temporary visitors from the south to prepare for the rain. Wiper blades, slow down on the road, umbrellas, stuff like that. Like anyone would do any of that ahead of time.

2) That laugh was followed by the busty PC traffic girl. (Channel 2 for you locals). She stated, with a straight face, chest thrust out, that there was a car blocking the #2 lane on the 405 this morning. It was not stalled, it was 'temporarily carbon neutral'.

You gotta love it here.
