Gay rights group forces Superbowl Snickers ad off the air...
I liked the ad. It was pretty funny. But I guess others were offended.

This is pathetic. It's a denial of the truth, which is WHY the ad was so damned funny. If these groups think that censorship is in any way better than biggotry than they have significantly more problems than being a minority group.

I didn't think the ad was even remotely funny, but the fact that a gay rights group got it pulled is hillarious.
I mean, I would put the ad in the "meta-bigot" category, meaning that it wasn't saying homosexuality is bad in any way-- actually, it was making fun of guys who are so afraid of being labelled "gay" that they would need to prove their manhood by ripping off their chest hair. I find it extraordinarily interesting that a gay rights group was offended by this ad. I bet they hate SOUTH PARK, too.

Normally, I support the rights of people to be gay or choose any sexual lifestyle that they want...
But in this case GLAD is way overboard with their hyped sensitivity to this ad. It was purely comedy and obviously not intended to discriminate against the gay population or their chosen lifestyles. What is most offensive about GLAD's position here is that they are clearly blurring the lines between discrimination based on race or religion, and what they consider discrimination based on sexual preferences. These things are completely unrelated, though GLAD wouldnt want them to be. |

They will sell even more Snickers now that those morons made a big deal out of it. If they ever want to be taken seriously, they are going to have to grow a much thicker skin. And maybe some chest hair, and I'm not talking about lesbian he-manchicks, either.

FYI not all gay rights groups agreed with GLAD on this, some pointed out that the joke is making fun of the to mechanics' homophobia.
I thought it another lame comercial in a super bowl full of lame comercials. B |
