Asto-nuts in diapers? Anna Nicole Smith dead? That's what's on the fore-front of CNN, FOX, MSNBC...etc. ?

News must be real slow these days....

You have to realize that many of us like it when things like this happen.

When the news cartels jump on something like this and nothing else for hours, its because there are no real newsworthy events happening and you do not need to watch.

When I am traveling I turn the tube on in which-ever country I land in and if CNN shows nothing important in the first 3 minutes after the top or bottom of the hour, then you know that nothing exciting is going on...

I remember sitting in the Duesseldorf airport bar, waiting for a flight around 1989 and watching CNN's footage of that UAL crash landing in Sioux City, IA. That's just what you want to see before boarding a transatlantic flight.

And then I remember getting to friends' house in Cologne, flipping on the tube and seeing the news about the shoe bomber, a few hours after I had landed at Frankfurt. Man, did I get checked out a few times before that return flight.
