If it helps, I just hired a guy on guru.com who did some SEO work for me. Reasonably priced and seemed to have good information, although SEO is a black art, at best. PM me if you want his contact info.

search engine optimization - how to get higher in the listings.
Best thing to do is really have content, add more of it so there's new stuff frequently, link to many high ranked sites, have many sites linking to you. At least, this is the start of how google indexes...
