One take I have not seen on OT on the subject of Osama Bin Laden--It seems to me that he has not attacked the US because he knows the US can't stomach the ongoing war in Iraq with the media reporting only negative news everyday. We are our own worst enemy.

If there were another attack then the public would reverse their attitudes and demand some type of military retaliation. In the meantime the Democrats have gained control of Congress and most likely the President in 2008 riding their anti-war themes.

Well guess what happens when the Democrats have control of President and Congress? Continued attacks on US on our soil and abroad with no expectation of military retaliation because he knows the Democratic President and Congress just won their elections bashing the war monger GWB. I hope I'm wrong.

I hope you are wrong as well. I personally do not see much difference between the two parties and their ability to wage war. WW II and Korea come to mind.

I think many people underestimate the will of the American people. I can guarantee you that another attack on US soil would result in retaliation. Iraq was a waste of time and had nothing to do with OBL or 9/11.

I think OBL is sitting back and admiring how well his plans are working. We fell right into his trap. He convinced a small handful of radical followers to fly planes into buildings and then sat back to watch us self-destruct. Look at the money spent (wasted?) in Iraq and the subsequent division in this country these days. Look at the clout the US enjoys around the world now (virtually none unless we threaten with a big stick). We have done this to ourselves...

The 9/11 plot was hatched before Clinton was even into his second term as president and Bush into his second term as gov. of TX. I highly doubt the date had anything to do with who would be president at the time. In fact, had Clinton or Bush taken OBL out before 9/11, it probably would not have prevented the attack.

More accurately, he waited until the Bush crime family was in the White House again. Though the attack had been in the planning stages for years, and would likely have occured eventually in any case, that a Bush won the election put the plan on the fast track.

Rick's right. Had Congress not been so focused on a Clinton BJ from a porky intern, and assailing him for trying to divert attention from said BJ by making a feeble attempt to intoduce OBL and friends to some nice cruise missles, 9/11 may never have happened. But that, as they say, is history.

Wrong Jim. 9/11 was planned even before the Starr investigation. In fact, some of our guys had OBL in their sights around that time, were ready to take the whole camp out and Sandy Burglar told them to hold off because our guys reported seeing swing sets and children's toys in the camp they were targeting.
