One of the cross-eyed Aero 8s for me too.

Have you guys ever driven one of those 635s? They're dogs.

They're referring to the euro spec M6 aka M635...286 hp and 3100 lbs...not exactly dogs.

No but I've driven the M635 and it was far from a dog. 1985 m635 came stock with ~ 285hp normally aspirated....for the time that was pretty good
even the us 255hp and heavier coud make circles arround some sports cars @the time

Price no object:

996 GT2
997 GT3 RS
997 GT3

Price an object:

Lotus Exige
993 C2S

But I am not getting rid of my 930... ever...

craigster59 02-15-2007 09:19 AM

Worth about the same...http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1171563574.jpg

911teo 02-15-2007 09:26 AM

To be in the same price range I'd consider:
A NSX for my 993
A Ford GT for my 3.9 RSR

2 cars that I'd like to drive are the BMW 3.0CSL and the Lamborghini Miura...
Something tells me the Miura would be a huge disappointment

Past tense for me. I traded this...

AND this (3.6 vario/built 915/930 brakes/RSR susp)...
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1171563874.jpg

For this....

It was a difficult decision on each car because my wife bought the 930 for me as an anniversary gift, and I think 930s are the most beautiful looking car ever, and I personally built the RS replica for her as her dedicated track car. In the end, it was the smartest decision from an operating expenses and competitiveness standpoint.

A Beck 550 Spyder with hopped-up motor

Early_S_Man 02-15-2007 09:46 AM

I don't have a prosche ... so I couldn't very well trade it for anything!

Wouldn't mind having a Lancia Stratos, tho ...

Good Pt.
I'd like the Alpin also...

But milt said I can't have my NART, MIura, or Ghibli fantasy. so, near equal in value.... hmmmm....

You will never get the handling characteristics we have unless yo get a rear or mid-engined car - a big lump of lead up front (where Mr. F. said the horse belonged in order to pull the cart) is just never gonna hack it. The F cars can have fabulous motors, but are too spendy and only the newer ones (ugly) have the motor in the right spot - except the Dino and its progeny.

So we are left with some Loti and the Dino+progeny. That is all you can get, unless its a used Boxster.

sladey 02-15-2007 09:59 AM

McLaren F1

All things considered, I rather be aboard a nice sailing yacht in the gulf of Fetiyeh, Southern Turkey. Hopefully near a port with
a good pool hall containing 9' tables. :D

they used to build those in Bulgaria in the mid 70's. I wonder where all those cars went. There's got to be some left in some bulgarian farmer's barn...

Money aside, I'd be tempted by a Ford GT....

Tough question, but keeping within your criteria of similar monetary value I can't think of anything I would trade for anything. All of them are labors of love for me...

1974 Toyota FJ40. I dont have any pics on this pc but this was the first car I ever did a frame-off restoration and its my proudest piece. It has faults and its not perfect, but I did everything on it. Complete. I love it and it makes my heart pound every time I get in it. Here's come specs:
1947 FJ 1.5. Why 1.5? it has the original early case and bottom but has the newer oil passages and filter passages including the modern filter. Later heads. That's how it came from the factory, a true mix of 73 and 74.
300+ thousand miles on the bottom end, now rebuilt.
DUI HEI dizzy
New Radiator
Painless (painful) new electrics
2Xlocking compartments. Back under bench seats has 400w amp
Detroit locker in rear
33" mickey thompson muds on 15" american racing aluminum 2-pieces
Old Man Emu shocks & steering stabilizer.
CCOT 4" extended shackles
other stuff i forget about. cd player. full body cage. harneses... supra front buckets...extended transmission breathers...spare. tow hook and wiring...
I did the steel, lead, filler and paintwork. I am really proud of it.

1983 SC race car...started as a HK-delivered 1983SC. Came to me through Melbourne as it was imported from its original owner in 2005 to Australia. I met the second owner who intended to turn it into a track-dedicated toy until he suffered a serious crash. He could no longer drive and sold to me.

I did a bunch of mods, pretty well documented on other pages on Pelican. Again, I did almost everything but this time put the paintwork to the pros at Zag.

1971 Targa updated with 3.0 and front coilovers, other bits....I am still awaiting this one to come off the boat so won't be trading it any time soon...

jtkkz 02-15-2007 11:16 AM
