Sorry I couldn't get away to make it. The Chevelle really stands out in the pics against all the beautiful german hardware. I'll try to make the get together another day soon.

The old Chevy didn't do too bad....;)

On the other end of the Valley...
I just got off Stunt Rd. (off of Mulholland HWY) with my blue car... where it was completely fogged in about 2 miles up...

However, within those 2 miles I got totally spanked/ ***** slapped/and punked by a young man in an unassuming white Mitzo Lancer with no Evo tail or markings.... he hand the line, the safe moves, and the speed....... AND he waited for me twice... then gone.

I'm either loosing the edge, or he was beautifully driving a very fast sleeper... or both... :(

Where ever he is, my hat's off... :)

All of this is un-condoned... and under the safest controlled conditions...of course...

... and so it goes

Cheers,

Sorry bout that..when you were thinking about that pass on lower stunt my options were limited;)

Butternut black plate Chevelle's are the best!

bauer, are you in or around Studio city?

lfot 02-19-2007 10:22 AM

BTW... post run we end up at the Fox and Hounds around Ventura & Vineland. if we get enough people into this, i can get the management to block off parking spots on Ventura in front of the pub.

That's a Great Idea Derek. If you could arrange that, that would be awesome!

Radu, did you happen to notice what time we got back to the Fox? That way I could let Mark or Doug know the general time what we'd be showing up.

Also, I think bauer lives in Silverlake.

I'm guessing ~4:30ish

I'm going to come again, I'll come up the 57 to the 210 and cut by travel time in half. I was a bit nervous about the wheel shudder I was having after my tranny rebuid I picked up on friday. Simple clutch cable adjustment this morning and "alls well".

nameisbauer 02-19-2007 11:36 AM

I do live in Silverlake, But I am moving to Culver City. I will take a break from moving next weekend to drive around.

lfot: I didn't forget to take/post pictures. Its raining! I will post pictures tomorrow.

Chuck,
I have a ton of seat time at the next level, like competing against the guys who finished 1st and 2nd at Daytona yesterday in Nascar touring division street and road courses. It's all relative to frame of reference;).
I volunteer that info only to offer rhyme to the reason so you don't beat yourself up too much!.http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/...s/beerchug.gif

You guys should hook up with Dave B,he used to orchestrate big fun runs in the area- i'm sure he still does occasionally. That would be a great way for everyone to get together since this thread has sparked such interest and many fond memories.

Best,
Mark

Hi Mark,

We do get together with Dave B. a couple times a year. He puts on a great New Years Day Hangover Run and some smaller informal runs.

Dave

lfot 02-19-2007 04:43 PM

We all do Dave's New Year's Run. Great fun.

This is sort of a way for people to connect with Mulholland again, then expand out from there hopefully. A way to enjoy the history that has almost been forgotten, and have a little fun as well.

I'd also like to see it become somewhat regular. Not huge! Just regular, so that pelicans and the like will know there is something going on when they want something going on.

Hmmm... sort of like the idea of Mulholland.

And not that it needs to always be Mulholland Dr.
It can always go anywhere, but it gives a potential consistency to get together for shared experience.

Ok, that sounded sappy.

It's also a way for a bunch of terminally juevenile men to pound their chests and punch the loud pedal weekly! http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/...s/boldblue.gif

Safety first, of course.

Chuck Miller 02-19-2007 06:54 PM

Thanks for the explanation Mark... :)

I take it from your posts that you're not as young as I thought...

By the way... when we do get together with Dave B. and the boys for the fun runs... I usually find my way close to the front by the end.... http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/...ool_shades.gif

Cheers.... and the beer's still on me...;)
