Number 2, As an American you enjoy a certain standard of living, which is greater or higher than most of the world. The USA consumes over half the goods and services produced in the world. Do you think that comes for FREE, by taking advantage of that Life Style you are indirectly responsible for the means that it was aqquired. If U feel that the USA acts in such an injust way, then perhaps you should renounce the ill gotten gains you use everyday and opt out of the system much like Teddy Kozinsky did. So son don't give me this I'm innocent routine.. Germany was full of people using that excuse. |

Like all Bleeding Heart Liberals U don't want to take MORAL RESPONSIBILITY for your actions. You would rather, like the Nazis before U, palm off your responsibilty unto the government and its leadership. "Well Mr Swiss Banker, just where do U think all that Gold came from that the Nazis were depositing in your bank." "Well MR On Ramp, just how do you think the money that makes up your paycheck every week is made." "Or how can the mfg make things so affordable for me to buy, how does he do it?" |

second, the crimes of our government overseas are not caused by the american people. sure we vote these elected officials into office, but when they betray us, what course of action do we have? nothing. "WE the people" are powerless. so what do you expect me to do, stop paying taxes and stop supporting funding of these actions? so what about mfg, go blame corporate america for that, whose only obligations are to Wall St.. that's all SmileWavy |

Your not powerless you just don't want to do anything about it, your too comfortable. So long as U have your Surban Ranch House, Big screen TV to watch the Super Bowl on and your SUV parked in the driveway you won't risk anything. U will let the bloodsucking con men run Wallstreet and Washington. |
And you will cry like all the other Bleeding Heart Liberals when those con men doing anything that spoils your moral complacency

Don't feel so Bad UN Ramp, your not alone...there are others on this Board that delude themselves as well. Just admit it you take advantage of the Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap just like everybody else, thats the cost upon your soul that U payfor living in this Superpower of a Nation and reaping its benfits. For thats what it takes to be a Super Power. or any power for that matter.

So....Precisely what power do we have?
Look at society...People put up with services that are below accepted levels and simply 'take it' (Jet Blue, anyone?). People have concluded, rightly or wrongly, that things are beyond their power to change. Corporations are now multinational with no loyalty to any country, philosophy or individual, only to itself. Elected officials seem to be totally disconnected with the people they 'serve', in fact they act as if they are some form of royalty. I see it, others see it. Most people (or sheeple as some have said) regardless of party sffiliation simply bend over. Those of us who rail against this kind of behavior and will NOT give in are somehow dismissed and ignored. Back to the corporations...Wasn't it Eisenhower that warned us of the military/industrial complex? The manufacture and selling of arms to anyone as long as they have the cash? Who profits from continuous unrest in the world? Who is actively keeping the situation in flux? Without war it is possible that certain corporations would fold. Wonderland is too rational a place to be used to describe our world. |
They're lining up at the top of the stairs for you, tabs. They don't even notice you sneaking up behind them.
|
tabs, you sure can get their goats, eh? ;)
nomoneyguy, when the people want power, they will simply vote the jackarses out of office. The problem is folks aren't ready to take their medicine. When you suckle that teet, it's hard to let go. |

Biggest example would be during the 1860's, the sheer amount of rights trampled on by the Republican party during that time...Although granted, congress was eventually given constitutional power to abolish slavery. Today, if such a thing hadn't been in the constitution, rather than taking the effort of an Amendment, they'd of sidestepped it somehow. We've let them pull off too much too long. I'm with tabs on this one, the U.S. is NOT innocent. |
