Date these bullets

My dad found these while digging in his garden 40 yrs ago...Rock Island Illinois. I know nothing about them--Feels like they're lead--Looks like copper on the outside? Just curious.

my guess is semi auto pistol slugs likely from twenties to forties. looks like .45s .
wasn't there a rock island arsenal?
maybe someone plinking at cabbages?

.45 ACP, more than likely.

Although without some measurement of the diameter, could be .32 ACP or even .25.

I agree...could be any caliber. Neat rock (or sand?) impression on the one on the left... a caliper needed here...

Size relative to the USB terminal, the cannelure grooves, the length looks like military .38 Special FMJ.

I'll measure when I get home--thanks guys

there's an equal impression on the right side of the one on the left--very symmetrical looking.

Let us know what the diameter measures...

if it's .451, it's a .45ACP... if it's .357, it's likely .38 special...

Another vote for .45 ACP.

The backside of the rounds look exactly like some WW2 rounds I have.

I passed a couple that looked just like that this morning. Maybe the picture just makes them look bigger.
