Anyone else use Yahoo mail Beta?

If so, WTF is the deal with the log-in screen? There's a picture of a little guy humping an ATM machine or something. I don't get it. . .

I got setup for Beta, but found it slower and less user-friendly. Went back to the "old" yahoo, cleaner presentation without all the bells & whistles.

That dude "humping the ATM" is supposed to be someone strapped into an old vibrating excercise machine, methinks.

That is correct. Yahoo changes the little guy with different animations every so often. Some are clever. Others are dumb. The ostrich chasing the guy was odd...

I do like the Yahoo beta mail. It's got a few more features that I like verses the old mail program. Yeah, it's just a touch slower, but I'll take the trade off for now...plus I use it only at work on the really quick T-1 (or whatever they call it) line and it flies along pretty well. I've got a 'hot key' on my keyboard that puts me right to the In Box, so I never have to login unless I clear my cash. Works well that way. Not real secure 'cause anyone could come up to my PC and just push that 'hot key' and get to my email, but if someone is that desparate to read my personal email, then so be it. I got nothin' to hide.

To say that yahoo mail 'beta' sucks would be my most charitable comment of the year. I spin lesser yarns to get laid. That poorly-coded abortion is what drove me to gmail. In addition, they broke something on the old yahoo mail, so when I went back, half of my emails wouldn't render.

What I find most irksome is that I am FURTHER away from seeing my inbox. You used to be able to login to your mail directly from the yahoo.com main page. Now you have to click mail, then login. With Beta, you get a view of their "value add' content before you see your mail.

They keep adding more steps to simple customer tasks. Really stupid.

The only upside I saw was viewing attached images; you got the full-size view right in the body of the email. You still have to handle each attachment individually to save or copy though.

I don't know why they would think it's acceptable to load the page down so much that it's SLOWER. For #$%#s sake, all I want to do is see my mail. I stopped using hotmail for this very reason... it is PAINFULLY slow to use.

I guess I'm the only one that likes it, at least more than the 'old' version. Moving files to folders is easier, but it occasionaly locks up and it never works correctly on the smartphone.

What kills me most about Yhaoo Mail (not Beta) is when you're viewing your Inbox and notice the 100s of spam emails in the Junk folder. Seems real convenient to have an EMPTY button right next to the folder Icon....however, when you hit this EMPTY button Yahoo pushes you from your Inbox to an Empty Junk folder page. Why? You just emptied it. Duh.
