just saw on the news that a big fire is burning at the glen.
started around nine o'clock.

A fire broke out Tuesday night at the Watkins Glen International race track's Glen Club. The club was used by sponsors of races at the track but has also been used as a reception hall for non racing events.

A call was placed to the Watkins Glen Fire Department at approximately 8:45pm Tuesday evening reporting the fire.

Several fire departments, including Watkins Glen, responded to the scene. The track was closed at the time of the fire and no one was at the track during that time. No one was injured as a result of the fire.

There's no word yet on the cause of the fire. Track officials says they'll have more on the investigation into the fire and a report on the damage later Wednesday. However witnesses at the scene say it appeared the building was destroyed by the fire.
