A new project
I bought a Land Cruiser yesterday to replace one that was destroyed a few months ago. A 250k miler that has a straight body, and real clean interior. I have to yank the motor out of this one
![]() and transplant it into the other because of this ![]() Here is the rest. ![]() No sunroof for weight reduction, I figure that nets me another 5-10hp, great for track days, auto-x! ![]() I don't like the two-tone but it looks like it needs paint anyway. I have yet to see it in person. Spring break should be fun!

Update:
Just in case somebody was interested, and judging by the views not many were, I've got some good Land Cruiser parts. Since I'm back in school, my wrenching time was limited to Spring Break and the first week after finals. That brings us to today. The transplant was quite a bit of work. Damn they put a crapload of nuts and bolts on these things. Anyway, after dropping the motor, trans and transfer case back in and buttoning everything thing up, she fired first try after building oil/fuel pressure. I have no idea how many cases of beer I went through. I took my time. Every nut, bolt, thread, and bracket was cleaned. No air tools were used to fasten anything back together and I was working on the ground. Needless to say, I'm pretty damn sore, but am pretty happy. You see, this was my first rodeo. The book I had was useful for torque values and IH8mud dot com was worthless. I guess most over there haven't had to do this job. ![]() If anyone needs a few L/C parts let me know. 1991 3FE. ![]()

Great project! Landcruisers are great trucks. I've found ih8mud pretty useful, but I'm usually over on the diesel side

Mud is a helpful place for some things don't get me wrong, I enjoy the knowlege that is shared. I just don't think anyone on the 80 forum has licked the job I did. There is a guy doing a rebulid on a 1fz motor, but he isn't pulling it.
40's kick arse Scott. We have a 74 in baby blue with the pto winch. I love them all, they are fantastic vehicles. This one made it's maiden voyage today. I finished changing all the fluids early this afternoon and hit the road from Austin to Dallas. It was a very pleasant feeling, and a nice ride. The millions of people running IH35 could not have wiped the grin off of my face no matter what. I probably won't drive this rig much, but I'll use the hell out of it. ![]()
