That's likely a good car if well maintained, almost as nice as an e39, and lighter. I think Captain Carrera lives down there. I'd do it, but it's 4+ hours from here.

The e34 V8 6spd is one of those "I've always wanted" cars. This thing is supposed to be virtually perfect with a 20k miles dealer installed engine.

What's neat, among other things, is that there are 18 inch factory wheels made for the car, as well as factory "big brakes", and a few other things.

Sounds like you found a good one.

What part of Charleston is it in? I might look at it "for you" and if it's a good deal, buy if for myself!

I'm going to be pretty busy through the weekend, and rain is supposed to start tomorrow (old general rule, never look at a car in the rain). Are you just trying to determine if it really is "minty"? How serious are you about buying? I don't want to trouble a private seller if you're just browsing, but if it is at a dealer and I'm passing near, I wouldn't mind taking a quick look at it for you. I'm actually not looking to spend any money right now (tax bills coming due in April), so you probably don't need to worry about my buying it out from under you -- but seriously though, I will make no guarantee that if it is a "screaming deal" I won't buy it for myself!

Hey, if you want to pay me to be your buyer's agent, I'll gladly agree to look at it for you with the promise that I won't buy it for myself.

If I'm just looking at it as a "favor" for some name on an internet forum, I want it to be very clear that I am not acting as your agent.

Your response here tells me that I made the right decision in letting you know the situation clearly; I could see you doing something silly like suing me if I looked at it, said it was great, then you bought it and didn't agree it was great!

Find someone else to look at it; I'm not interesting in doing any favors for a guy who has unreasonable expectations.

Just to let anyone else know the situation who might be considering doing a "favor" for Terry, he called me a "****ing dick" in his PM reply to my earlier PM to him.

What's the old saying, "No good deed goes unpunished...."

Plenty of favors have been exchanged with myself and members of this board. Never an issue.

And this is the actual pm response:

Re: 540i
That would be pretty ****ing dick. Thanks but no thanks.

I'll be away from the computer this afternoon.

Yea, I guess I mis-interpreted what you said. Sorry, but I'm not used to using or receiving vulgarities.
