Since Feb 1, there has been exactly 1 day where the temp reached the 100yr average high at my house

I've heard it's been a bit chilly in New York, vineyard owners are worried about surviving vines.

We've had the coldest winter in many, many years here. By cold, I mean we have had no shirt sleeve days at the beach. But colder than normal for us.

I'm hoping for in like a lion, out like a convertible.

Holy molely, dat's cold. It was about 65F here today, genuine T-shirt weather. Next two days are 55F and 62F predicted. The peach trees are just about to break bud.

It hit 88 today.

Bill Verburg; part of the "Climate Change" scenario is the weather patterns change. Some places get too much rain (or snow), others experience drought. Also some places get warmer, some colder.............gotta look outside your own backyard and look at the planet as a whole. Of course you would know all this had you seen the movie.;)

...WAY colder...and the most brutal heatwave last summer that I've experienced in my 40+ years around here. OK, not scientific, but clearly some unusual stuff.

NOAA Facts:

"The average temperature (for the entire United States) in February 2007 was 32.9 F. This was -1.8 F cooler than the 1901-2000 (20th century) average, the 34th coolest February in 113 years. The temperature trend for the period of record (1895 to present) is 0.3 degrees Fahrenheit per decade."

Is the global warming fad over yet? I liked the overpopulation/starvation fad of the 70's, the New Ice Age fad of the 80's, and the China Syndrome fad a lot better. Although the Asteroid Colliding With Earth doom & gloom scenario has really been getting some media traction lately .... :cool:

This, while not an immediate threat, is the most likely event to cause catastrophic weather changes on this planet. It's happened at least once in the past.

Near earth objects are tracked by NASA. You can go to their web site and see the paths these objects take when they pass, and the distance they actually came, or are predicted to come, to our planet.

It's not new, I've visited the web site for at least ten years, about once a year.

75 here expected to go over 80 again today
I would say move south
but extra hurricanes intill the waters rise
and south fla floods make that a bad idea long term
but few neo-conned understand long term effects

Does Daylight Savings Time Contribute to Global Warming?
 

Personally, I've always noticed that our springs never get going until the switch to Daylight Savings Time. I suspect that it has something to do with the extra hour of daylight in the afternoon and evening (the warmest part of the day) which generally triggers the leaves coming out on the trees and the widespread melting of snow. The fact that we lose an hour of daylight (temporarily) in the mornings is not such a big deal since that's usually the coldest part of the day. Since we're starting DST three weeks earlier this year, I'm expecting an early and mild spring.

So should the US repeal DST in order to combat global warming???

Again, I marvel at how much smarter you guys are than the scientists who study these matters. They think there is global warming, but you guys have proven that it's just the opposite. Global cooling. Boy are those scientists going to be embarrassed.

No the Harved co-eds who posed nude for the Phrenologists are the ones embarrassed. The scientists were just smiling. Global cooling, global warming has been going on forever.. All we want is some perspective and less hype.

Okay if the Earth is actually cooler then where in the heck are all the Pirates Mr. Smarty Pants?

The Magma Chamber under Yellowstone National Park decided to surface it would undoubtly get everyones attention as well.
