You have to wonder what Powell will do now. Bush is getting a lot of credit these days for his Africa policy, but it really was done by Powell when he was Sec of State. I have that on good authority.

The media's treatment of the electoral process in this country sucks--to put it plainly. You watch MSNBC, they have a nightly poll: Hillary vs Obama, Guiliani vs McCain. That's all they discuss--the horse race--mostly Hillary/Obama. Guiliani so far has had a free ride in the media--so he's ahead. No negatives exposed yet for him. Hillary has gotten pounded, so she's lost some ground. McCain's Iraq policy is unpopular--he's lost ground. Obama is getting a free ride, too.

What about Romney? Edwards? Richardson? A few weeks ago, Edwards was the only Dem who could beat Guiliani or McCain. Tell that to MSNBC and the rest of those poll watchers--or is it poll makers?
And this is a year before the primaries.

Another person I'd like to see in the race: Wes Clark.

Intelligent, Patriotic, Capable, and both the extreme left and extreme right dislike him intensely. Works for me.

I hope that Powell does run as a Democrat. He is left of Hillary.

I heard on Fox a few minutes ago that actor Fred Thompson is considering running. Former U.S. Senator from Tennessee.
