Wireless Network Card causing interference on Laptop Speakers
I am not sure if anyone may have any suggestions as Netgear tech support (in India I believe) have not responded with any useful information.
I just set up my home with a wireless network all top of the line 802.11n Netgear stuff. Everything works great, Internet is fast, shared printers work, I was quite impressed with myself. The issue I have is that my wireless card in my HP Notebook (Netgear WN511T in a HP Pavilion n5290) causes interference on the notebook speakers anytime it is sending or receiving data. No matter how I set up the network, channel or encryption, etc makes any difference. No matter if I mute the speaker etc the noise is still there. Any Ideas? Could it be a faulty card? Erik

Could be, take it back to the store and get another one.

Are you sure it is not your cell phone interfering? If it is the Network card, it is definitely faulty.

Actually since the card is in a laptop take the whole rig to the store and let them experience the issue first hand.
That way you can try a new card before you leave the store.

Well, returned the card and got a new one. It is EXACTLY the same, maybe even worse with the new card. Could it be a specific card manufacturer? I could maybe try and Linksys of Belkin card or it just may be my HP Notebook has an issue. Very Frustrated.

The sound card built into the laptop could be bad. If the laptop is under warranty, you might want to bring it in.
