I will miss it. But ya gotta do what ya gotta do sometimes. Once the dust settles on my other projects I might buy an 80-81 SC to replace her.

Your targa is one of my favorite early cars so Im sad to see it go, but it sounds like it was the right thing to do.

I just saw mine go onto the hauler last week. It felt kinda weird, but the car needed a new owner.

Thanks Shuie, that's nice to hear. It is a very fine car as some of you can attest personally. Wait until Jeremy finds out. He knows her very well from our coffees in Florida.

Listing looks good, but why start it so high? I would have started it @ $1000 or something and gotten a huge bid count. With a reserve, it's not going to make any difference where it winds up, but you may get zero bids that way. I just believe in auction fever phenomena, I have my truck on eBay right now and it started @ $200.00. And I forgot to put a reserve on it!! But it will be OK. ~640 people have seen it since Sunday night there, it'll sell.

It's always sweet sorrow to sell a 911, (unless it's a toilet, and yours sure isn't), I wish you the best luck and maybe I will be proved wrong when the price soars skyward and some Russian/British/South American/Chinese/whatever guy gets an old 911!

(The dollar is worthless everywhere).

If I was in the market for a classic Targa, I'd buy yours, it's beautiful!

You might post it on the Early S Registry forum also. It could get alot of attention there. Looks very nice for sure.

Where is Gibsonia? I'm in New Castle. Not from here so I'm still finding my way around. Good idea about the registry, Chuck Miller knows this car well, he has driven it.

Gibsonia is where the PA turnpike 76 and Rt 8 intersect. There is a PCA meeting at the Club House on Rt. 8 Saturday evening.

at least I'm high bidder

I wish I could afford your car - it would look good next to my cabriolet!

Jeremy, I could NOT think of a single person that I would rather see her go to. I know you would take good care of her. PM me with your phone number..let's talk.

Or you kidding? I have the run away home remodel from hell - 15 months into a remodel that was supposed to take 9. Hell my wife just spent $3,000 on a friggin closet. Sorry - I didn't mean to get your hopes up.

after this remodel I won't be able to pay attention.

Oh believe me I understand. Didn't count on you as I know what you are going through. Right now I couldn't spend the night! Kinda the same thing here that's why she's leaving home. Thanks for bidding anyway.

$3K for a closet!!! Hell I would have sold her one of mine for half that! :-)

If someone wants an independent take on the car - I have not driven it - but have seen it on numerous occasions - shoot me a PM and I'd be happy to fill you in.

anybody that's thinking of getting an early original targa - not sure you could do better than T-birds'
