It was not a smash up derby. Why do people think two cars can't touch during the last turn before the checker flag? The cars were not damaged. The F-car only had tire marks on it. The P-car didn't hit the wall. They could have run another lap.

These guys are pros, it ain't PCA Club racing.

It wasn't contact in the heat of racing... going hard into a turn he "bumped" the car in front on the inside corner of his bumper trying to spin him out of the way. It's one of the oldest and dirtiest tricks in dirt track and NASCAR.

WHAT?! How much more "in the heat of racing" can you get than the last turn of a 12 hour race???

scottmandue 03-21-2007 07:07 AM

Slippery slope... how do you define "the heat of racing"? Last corner of last lap? First corner of first lap? Re-entering the track from pit lane?
Rules are rules, either contact is allowed or it is not.

+1

Very exciting finish but not a clean win.

I'd have had a lot more respect for a clean second place than a dirty first.

Well they did protest and they were told to go pound sand.

Races are won on the last lap not on the first lap.

order... order in the court!!!

h20cooled7 03-21-2007 07:54 AM

Well that race had my wife standing in the room shouting ..
she was so stoked...she drives the P on occasion. Would love to the in car cam. from the F car. Jorg is the winner, even if he got second. Folks will remember this race for a long time.

Does anyone who frequents a Ferrari board know what they are saying?

URY914 03-21-2007 10:54 AM

I'm a member of FerrariChat.

Whata think thier saying....

legion 03-21-2007 10:59 AM

Just wondering if the consensus over their is "dirty racing" or "he did what he had to to win"...

URY914 03-21-2007 11:13 AM

It's about the same as here.

Some say he had to do it to win.
Some don't like it.

legion 03-21-2007 11:24 AM

That's mostly what I figured.

I hate to say it but my wife and I left early and made the ride back to Tampa(brother in laws house) to watch on SPEED. When we got to his house he doesnt even have the channel and I wanted to kick his ass. So I missed the best race of the season, I just wanted to stir the pot. I think i might hit VIR because its close and I have a excuse to go burn the 930 up.

URY914 03-21-2007 05:23 PM

Next year come over to my house. I'm right off I-75 in Tampa.
I got cold beer and SPEED.

trekkor 03-21-2007 05:37 PM

I still think the finish was pathetic...

I was standing a cheering out loud, however. ( alone in the house )
