If I'm Jorg, the Ferrari team gets taken out (Hey, that's racing...heat of the moment...right...?)

They did not take each other out, and I doubt contact to spin him out or wreck him was intentional. If next race the Porsche decides to take the Ferrari out intentionally, I will Boo very loudly.

Arnoux and Villeneuve did not get mad at each other after the French GP. They didn't (to my knowledge) protest the outcome of the race - despite contact. They gave it everything they thought they could, and neither chrashed.

This is Eau Rouge at Spa in 1970. Thats Rodriguez and Siffert. Do you think they cried to the team manager "He bumped me!" when they got to the pits?

Sure racing is about running on the ragged edge and some time drivers loose control and hit each other accidentally... no one intentionally spins off the track and into a wall .

The question is did the Ferrari intentionally hit the Porsche, from where I was sitting it sure looked like it.

he was intentionally doing a very aggressive move on an unstable corner, but I don't think the contact was pre planned or intentional. Thats my opinion on the subject.

I don't think his intent changed since he took the green flag on the first lap.

The intent is to win.

Now that time has passed, I've had a chance to watch it again (and again, and again, etc.). I take it all back.

It looked like clean, but hard fought racing to me. I think the Ferrari driver was simply giving it all he had and so was the Porsche driver.

Great battle actually! It could've one either way.
:D

The more I watch, the more I don't like the second contact. That one didn't seem necessary.

But I also think Jorg might have made a mistake by passing when he did. He probably could have made a clean pass on the inside on the final turn. Then again, I could be totally wrong. He probably saw the opening when he did and had to pass when he had the opportunity. Maybe the final turn could not offer such an opportunity. Hence the bumping by the Ferrari.

In any case, it was a great battle.
