Thanks Dennis! I think we need to visit a 'Worst Buy' and play with these units- see what'll work best for us. It's tough to compare TomTom with the Nuvis without actually using them. I see the lower-end Nuvis can have the Europe data downloaded- so we may pursue that.

I have the Garmin Streetpilot and now have experience with it in a number of locations-the thing is flat-out fantastic! My wife got it for my birthday 2 years ago. Consumer Reports at that time rated it #1. The screen is large enough to actually read on the fly, and gives all kinds of useful info. I mount in in the 911 just to the left of the rear view mirror, which defeats the glare issue.

Any one of you have a preference or would mind identifying the pros/cons between the Garmin StreetPilot and the Nuvi? Thanks!
